Time Domain Subdivision Method for Optical Grating Signal Based on Time Series Analysis

open access: yesNanotechnology and Precision Engineering, 2018
Aiming at the restriction of the Moire signal quality on the subdivision multiple and accuracy, a time domain subdivision method for optical grating signals based on time series analysis is proposed.

Analysis of time-domain scattering by periodic structures

open access: yesJournal of Differential Equations, 2016
This paper is devoted to the mathematical analysis of a time-domain electromagnetic scattering by periodic structures which are known as diffraction gratings. The scattering problem is reduced equivalently into an initial-boundary value problem in a bounded domain by using an exact transparent boundary condition. The well-posedness and stability of the

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Analysis of the impact of leaks and valve maneuvers on pressure transient data in water distribution networks [PDF]

open access: yesRBRH
Swift detection and repair of leaks in water distribution networks are essential to ensure the operational efficiency of the system. It’s not viable, both financially and technically, to scour the entire extension of the system to look for leaks ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Electro-optic network analyzer [PDF]

open access: yes
The bandwidth of frequency domain measurement methods of electrical signals has usually been far greater than the bandwidth of time domain methods. The primary limits of the time domain approach have been the 20 to 30 GHz bandwidth limit for electronic ...
