Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

A Time-Frequency Analysis of the Coherences of the US Business [PDF]
The dating of a possible European business cycle has been inconclusive. At this stage, there is no consensus on the existence of such a cycle, or of its periodicity and amplitude, or of the relationship of individual member countries to that cycle.

Active optical pre-compensation in short range frequency transfer in optical single-mode fiber
Short distance fiber based optic distribution of time and frequency is often considered sufficiently stable and therefore, uncompensated one way transfer is used.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Econometric Analysis of Realised Covariation: High Frequency Covariance, Regression and Correlation in Financial Economics [PDF]
This paper analyses multivariate high frequency financial data using realised covariation. We provide a new asymptotic distribution theory for standard methods such as regression, correlation analysis and covariance.

Hardware Realization of Generalized Time-Frequency Distribution with Complex-Lag Argument
A hardware implementation of the Nth order complex-lag time-frequency distribution is proposed. The considered distribution provides an arbitrary high concentration for multicomponent signals with fast varying instantaneous frequency.
