Empirical regularities of order placement in the Chinese stock market

open access: yes, 2007
Using ultra-high-frequency data extracted from the order flows of 23 stocks traded on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, we study the empirical regularities of order placement in the opening call auction, cool period and continuous auction.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Continuous-Time Models, Realized Volatilities, and Testable Distributional Implications for Daily Stock Returns [PDF]

open access: yes
We provide an empirical framework for assessing the distributional properties of daily speculative returns within the context of the continuous-time jump diffusion models traditionally used in asset pricing finance.

Mixer-Duplexer-Antenna Leaky-Wave System Based on Periodic Space-Time Modulation

open access: yes, 2016
We present a mixer-duplexer-antenna leaky-wave system based on periodic space-time modulation. This system operates as a full transceiver, where the upconversion and downconversion mixing operations are accomplished via space-time transitions, the ...

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Convolutional Neural Networks for Local Component Number Estimation from Time–Frequency Distributions of Multicomponent Nonstationary Signals

open access: yesMathematics
Frequency-modulated (FM) signals, prevalent across various applied disciplines, exhibit time-dependent frequencies and a multicomponent nature necessitating the utilization of time-frequency methods.

DOA Estimation and Self-Calibration under Unknown Mutual Coupling

open access: yesSensors, 2019
In practical applications, the assumption of omnidirectional elements is not effective in general, which leads to the direction-dependent mutual coupling (MC). Under this condition, the performance of traditional calibration algorithms suffers.

Nonlinear frequency shift of electrostatic waves in general collisionless plasma: unifying theory of fluid and kinetic nonlinearities

open access: yes, 2015
The nonlinear frequency shift is derived in a transparent asymptotic form for intense Langmuir waves in general collisionless plasma. The formula describes both fluid and kinetic effects simultaneously.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Multifractal Modeling of the US Treasury Term Structure and Fed Funds Rate [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper identifies the Multifractal Models of Asset Return (MMARs) from the eight nodal term structure series of US Treasury rates as well as the Fed Funds rate and, after proper synthesis, simulates those MMARs.
