Time of Arrival in Quantum Mechanics

Annals of Physics, 1995
Abstract An expression for the quantum time of arrival based on the current density is discussed and justified operationally by means of complex potentials that absorb the incoming wave in a finite distance without reflection or transmission. Previous arguments denying the possibility of defining the time of arrival in quantum mechanics are refuted.

Intelligent time of arrival estimation

2011 IEEE Forum on Integrated and Sustainable Transportation Systems, 2011
Traditional time-of-arrival estimation techniques are often used in advanced transportation systems such as in-car navigation systems and fleet management systems. These techniques tend to neglect certain categories of context when estimating a vehicle's time-of-arrival at a given destination. Particularly important categories of such neglected context

A Channel Model for Indoor Time-of-Arrival Ranging

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2020
We executed an indoor measurement campaign to statistically characterize the bias in time of arrival (ToA) estimates incurred by multipath in the 5.5 GHz industrial, scientific and medical band by transmitting 10 and 100 MHz bandwidth waveforms.

Timing the arrival at 2340 m altitude for aerobic performance

Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports, 2007
This study tested the hypothesis that maximal oxygen uptake (V̇O2max) and performance increase upon altitude acclimatization at moderate altitude. Eight elite cyclists were studied at sea level, and after 1 (Day 1), 7 (Day 7), 14 (Day 14) and 21 (Day 21) days of exposure to 2340 m.

Minimum variance time of arrival estimation for positioning

Signal Processing, 2010
Positioning systems based on time of arrival (TOA) rely on an accurate estimation of the first signal arrival which is the only one bearing position information. In this context, first arrival path detectors based on the minimum variance (MV) and the normalized minimum variance (NMV) criteria are robust against multipath propagation and non-line-of ...

POSITION FIXING BY TIME OF ARRIVAL

1966
Abstract : An engineering model is developed of the error contours encountered in position fixing using synchronous time of arrival data. Normal distribution is emphasized. Probabilities of fixes occurring within circles and ellipses are determined using the natural oblique coordinates associated with the measuring system. Comparisons are made of three-

The Route to In Our Time: The Arrival

2007
Hemingway’sconcentration on his writing was unflagging. Once he and Hadley had determined that his work would be fiction writing, she took on as many of the household responsibilities as she could. Hemingway rented a small room near their apartment and set off every morning soon after breakfast —in fact, he asked Hadley that breakfast itself be silent ...
