Time of flight diffraction testing of austenitic stainless steel weldments at elevated temperatures

open access: yes, 2008
Ultrasonic testing is a mandatory requirement during inservice inspection of the welds in the main and safety vessels of a prototype fast breeder reactor. Presently, conventional ultrasonic techniques have been proposed for use.

Designing Vanadium‐Based Oxide Electrocatalysts for Water Splitting: Experimental and Mechanistic Insights with Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review establishes structure‐property‐mechanism relationships across six modification strategies for V‐based oxide water‐splitting electrocatalysts: lattice engineering, heteroatom doping, interface engineering, carbon‐based hybridization, morphology engineering, and surface reconstruction and pre‐catalyst design, where dissolution is reframed as ...

Energy-resolved neutron imaging and diffraction including grain orientation mapping using event camera technology

open access: yesScientific Reports
Time-of-flight neutron diffraction and energy-resolved imaging each provide unique perspectives into material properties. Neutron diffraction is useful for assessing microstructural parameters such as phase composition, texture, and dislocation densities,

Photo‐Switchable Molecular Module Programming PET Biodegradation in Aquatic Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We address the plastic durability paradox by integrating an itaconic acid–derived pyrrolidone module into polymer backbones. Sunlight in water triggers Norrish Type I ring‐opening and hydrophilization, enabling rapid biodegradation into nontoxic minerals.

Probabilistic and statistical models of the booking process [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
September 1990Includes bibliographical references (p. 232-236)In this thesis, we develop the necessary statistical framework to produce accurate forecasts of total bookings in a particular fare class on a specific flight number departing on a given date ...

Photo‐Degradable Polyester Networks and Multi‐Photon Printed Objects Based on Cyclic Ketene Acetals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The current work introduces a photoreversible polyester network derived from radical ring‐opening polymerization of cyclic ketene acetals. It combines photoreversible cross‐linking with initiator‐free multi‐photon printing. Reversible network formation, tunable mechanical properties, and selective degradation highlight its potential as a versatile ...

Time-of-flight widefield microscopy

open access: yesOptics Express
High-resolution depth imaging is essential in fields such as biological microscopy and material science. Traditional techniques like interferometry and holography often rely on phase stability and coherence, making them susceptible to noise and limiting their effectiveness in low-light conditions.

Oligoethylene Glycol Side‐Chain Engineering of Y6‐Derived Nonfullerene Acceptors for Thermally Induced Spontaneous Pseudo‐Planar Heterojunction Organic Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
OEG‐functionalized Y6‐derived acceptors induce thermally driven vertical phase separation, enabling pseudo‐planar heterojunction organic photodetectors. The resulting PM6:YTEG‐4F and PM6:YTEG‐4Cl organic photodetectors suppress dark current density by approximately 260‐fold and 210‐fold, respectively, while maintaining efficient photoresponse ...
