Time-resolved structural studies at synchrotrons and X-ray free electron lasers: opportunities and challenges

open access: yes, 2012
X-ray free electron lasers (XFELs) are potentially revolutionary X-ray sources because of their very short pulse duration, extreme peak brilliance and high spatial coherence, features that distinguish them from today's synchrotron sources.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Time-resolved spectroscopic studies of reactive intermediates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Chapter 1. Introduction. An introduction to the detection of reactive intermediates by various spectroscopic techniques is given, as well as a brief introduction to perfluorinated solvents, which are used throughout the work presented in Chapters 2 to 4.\

Time-resolved and time-integrated photoluminescence analysis of state filling and quantum confinement of silicon quantum dots

open access: yes, 2005
In this paper we report studies of the optical properties of silicon quantum dot structures. From time-resolved and time-integrated photoluminescence measurements we investigate the state-filling effect and carrier lifetime, and discuss the parabolic ...

A Detailed Time-resolved and Energy-resolved Spectro-polarimetric Study of Bright Gamma-Ray Bursts Detected by AstroSat CZTI in Its First Year of Operation

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The radiation mechanism underlying the prompt emission remains unresolved and can be resolved using a systematic and uniform time-resolved spectro-polarimetric study. In this paper, we investigated the spectral, temporal, and polarimetric characteristics
