Averaging Theory for Delay Difference Equations with Time-Varying Delays

SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1999
A theory of averaging on both finite and infinite time intervals is developed for delay difference equations with time-varying delays. The main results are applied to the adaptive identification of a pipe mixing problem in the presence of time-varying transport delays.

DELAYED TIME-VARYING H∞ CONTROL DESIGN

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2005
Abstract The linear H∞ control problem is stated for time-varying plant with arbitrary delays and discontinuous coefficients. The image representation of the plant is explicitly written and full solution to the suboptimal control problem is presented.

Stability of time-varying switched systems with time-varying delay

Nonlinear Analysis: Hybrid Systems, 2009
The author first gives a generalization of Halanay's inequality, and then uses this inequality to obtain sufficient conditions for the stability of the following switched delay system \[ x'(t)=A_{\sigma_i}(t)x(t)+B_{\sigma_i}(t)x(t-\tau(t))+\int_{t_0}^t f_{\sigma_i}(t-s)x(s)ds, \] where \[ x(t)\in \mathbb R^n, A_{\sigma_i}(t), B_{\sigma_i}(t)\in ...

On time‐varying cyclic delay diversity

European Transactions on Telecommunications, 2006
AbstractCyclic delay diversity (CDD) was introduced in 2001 to obtain spatial diversity in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based transmission system. In contrast to space‐time codes, CDD introduces no additional effort at the receiver side, since CDD changes only the channel impulse response seen by the receiver by increasing the ...

Optimal estimation of time-varying delay

ICASSP-88., International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2003
The authors report on time-varying delay estimation in a multisource single direct acoustic path environment. The signals are stochastic nonstationary processes. The time delays are deterministic time-varying functions described by a finite dimensional vector theta of unknown parameters. The observation noise is spatially correlated.

Stability of Lurie Time-Varying Systems with Time-Varying Delay Feedbacks

2018
In this chapter, the stability problems of Lurie nonlinear system with time-varying plant and time-varying actuator under time-varying delay feedback are presented. First, absolute stability criteria, which we define as solvable matrix inequalities, are outlined by constructing a Lyapunov–Razumikhn functional.

Stabilization of linear systems with time‐varying delays

International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, 2012
SUMMARYThis paper is concerned with the stability and stabilization problems for a class of time‐delayed systems, whose time‐varying delays are studied via Markovian approach. By separating the delay interval into several subintervals and by considering the inherent distribution of time‐varying delay, a new model is firstly developed.

Stability of uncertain systems with time-varying delays

Fifth World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation (IEEE Cat. No.04EX788), 2004
This paper provides a new criterion for robust asymptotical stability of a class of uncertain systems with multiple time-varying delays and nonlinear uncertainties based on LaSalle theorem. Firstly, we gave a contractive invariant set for time-delay systems, and then we derived the condition in which the system would be attracted into this invariant ...

Teleoperation of Mobile Robots With Time-Varying Delay

IEEE Transactions on Robotics, 2006
This paper proposes a stable control structure for the bilateral teleoperation of mobile robots. The proposed control structure includes a time-delay compensation placed on both the local and remote sites of the teleoperation system. To illustrate the performance and stability of the proposed control structure, experiences on a Pioneer 2DX mobile robot

Time-Varying Delay

2009
Before we complete Part I of the book, on predictor feedback for linear systems, and before we move on to delay-adaptive control in Part II, we examine a somewhat related problem of linear (time-invariant) systems with time-varying input or output delays.
