Robustness of Time-Varying Systems [PDF]
Abstract The dynamics of many mechanical systems can be described, or approximated by smooth vector fields in d-dimensional space Rd. External and internal excitations as well as modeling uncertainties are incorporated in the vector fields as families of (time-varying) functions, possibly with their own dynamics.

Section 1 provides a theory of reachability, observability, minimal realization and duality for time-varying linear systems, using only the basic language of linear algebra. Section 2 uses category theory to show that time-varying dynamics for adjoint processes in a category $\mathcal{K}$ may be defined as ad joint processes in a suitable new category $

We study stabilization problems for a broad class of time varying linear systems that have constant input delays. Our reduction model method allows arbitrarily long delays, and it establishes input-to-state stability with respect to additive uncertainties.

IDENTIFICATION OF TIME-VARYING FUZZY SYSTEMS
International Journal of General Systems, 1996This paper discusses the identification of time-varying fuzzy systems. A square-root type recursive algorithm with variable forgetting factor is presented to estimate the parameters of systems. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the performance of the identification algorithm.

Realisation of linear time-varying systems
International Journal of Control, 2016ABSTRACTIn this paper, the realisation problem of linear multi-input multi-output, time-varying systems is studied. The approach, based on the theory of non-commutative polynomial rings, yields explicit and simple formulas for computation of the state coordinates as well as for state equations in observable canonical form.

Representation of Time-Varying Nonlinear Systems With Time-Varying Principal Dynamic Modes
IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 2007System identification of nonlinear time-varying (TV) systems has been a daunting task, as the number of parameters required for accurate identification is often larger than the number of data points available, and scales with the number of data points.

On linear time-varying system characterizations
2009 IEEE International Conference on Electro/Information Technology, 2009An alternative approach for characterization of linear time-varying (LTV) systems in the time-domain and frequency-domain is developed. The two-dimensional Laplace transform (2DLT) technique for obtaining the response of LTV systems and networks is outlined.
