Weighted Time-Delay Estimation-Based Proportional-Integral-Derivative Control for High-Order Time-Delay Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access
In real-world applications, time delays and uncertain nonlinearities are inevitable and impose significant challenges in modern control systems. The uncertainties commonly include nonlinear backlash-like hysteresis, external disturbances, parameter ...

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Time Delay Estimation Algoritms for Echo Cancellation

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2011
The following case study describes how to eliminate echo in a VoIP network using delay estimation algorithms. It is known that echo with long transmission delays becomes more noticeable to users.

Time Discounting: The Delay Effect and Procrastinating Behavior [PDF]

open access: yes
The delay effect, that people discount the near future more than the distant future, has not been verified rigorously. An experiment conducted by us in China confirms that, by separating the delay from the interval, the delay effect exists only within a ...

A delay-dependent approach to H∞ filtering for stochastic delayed jumping systems with sensor non-linearities

open access: yes, 2007
This is the post print version of the article. The official published version can be obtained from the link below - Copyright 2007 Taylor & Francis Ltd.In this paper, a delay-dependent approach is developed to deal with the stochastic H∞ filtering ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Stability Analysis of Linear Time-Varying Delay Systems via a Novel Augmented Variable Approach

open access: yesMathematics
This paper investigates the stability issues of time-varying delay systems. Firstly, a novel augmented Lyapunov functional is constructed for a class of bounded time-varying delays by introducing new double integral terms.

Fractal Analysis of Intraflow Unidirectional Delay over W-LAN and W-WAN Environments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We have analysed unidirectional delay traces of a diverse set of IPv6 microflows routed over W-LAN and W-WAN environments. Using a number of time-domain and frequency-domain estimators we have examined the existence and intensity of long-range dependence
