Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

The accuracy of sources locations and velocities estimate is very sensitive to the accurate knowledge of sensor locations and velocities. In the presence of sensor position and velocity errors, this study considers the problem of simultaneously locating multiple disjoint sources and refining erroneous sensor positions and velocities using time ...

Underwater Acoustic Source Seeking Using Time-Difference-of-Arrival Measurements
The research presented in this paper is aimed at developing a control algorithm for an autonomous surface system carrying a two-sensor array consisting of two acoustic receivers, capable of measuring the time-difference-of-arrival (TDOA) of a quasiperiodic underwater acoustic signal and utilizing this value to steer the system toward the acoustic ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Detecting of Gunshots Direction Using TDOA (Time Difference of Arrival)
In order to avoid shots being fired in undesirable areas, a device is required that can detect the origin of the shot so that the source of the bullet can be identified. This research was conducted to maintain the security and stability of a region.

In order to reduce the influence of time-difference-of-arrival measurement error on localization accuracy of time-difference-of-arrival-based four-satellite localization, we first introduce the frequency-difference-of-arrival information to the existing ...

A method for estimating songbird abundance with drones
Using drones to conduct airborne bioacoustics surveys is a potentially useful new way to estimate the abundance of vocal bird species. Here we show that by using two audio recorders suspended from a quadcopter drone it is possible to estimate distances ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
