TranQuiL: Long Range Detection and Localization of Interference in Radio Quiet Zones

open access: yesRadio Science, Volume 61, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Radio Quiet Zones (RQZs) have been established to prevent radio sources from causing harmful interference to sensitive radio telescopes, which study extremely faint cosmic radio waves. Even with strict regulations, such interference is growing due to the widespread use of consumer electronics, emitting in many different frequency bands ...

Joint Time Synchronisation and Localisation Method by TDOA Observation in 5G Networks

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This work proposes a method for joint time synchronisation and localisation problems and proposes to obtain the initial values of the alternating iteration algorithm through solving the MVIE problem. The simulations showcase the satisfying positioning accuracy and clock synchronisation accuracy of the proposed method.

Loop Matching Pursuit Multistation TDOA Estimation Method Based on Noncircular Signal

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
The existing TDOA estimation methods based on orthogonal matching pursuit only consider the scenario of circular signal and are prone to the degradation of estimation performance due to atom misselection under small samples and low signal‐to‐noise ratio.

Compressive TDOA Estimation Method Based on Amplitude Phase Clustering in Time‐Frequency Domain

open access: yesIET Signal Processing, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
In the field of signal processing, modulation signals, including phase shift keying (PSK) and quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM), can significantly enhance the signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) through aliasing transmission following clustering and sorting.

Beamforming Design for Joint Localization and Data Transmission in Distributed Antenna System

open access: yes, 2014
A distributed antenna system is studied whose goal is to provide data communication and positioning functionalities to Mobile Stations (MSs). Each MS receives data from a number of Base Stations (BSs), and uses the received signal not only to extract the

Seismo‐Acoustic Detection and Localization of Iceberg Collapse in Atka Bay, Antarctica

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 23, 16 December 2025.
Abstract On 12 January 2022, an iceberg collapsed at the edge of frozen Atka Bay, Antarctica. The event generated seismic, hydroacoustic, and atmospheric infrasound waves recorded by a local network comprising land‐ and iceshelf‐based seismometers, an underwater hydrophone, and an on‐ice infrasound array.

Lightning Location and Mapping System Using Time Difference of Arrival (TDoA) Technique

open access: yes, 2011
Lightning strike is a dangerous natural phenomenon that can cause various problems. Telecommunication subscriber lines (TSLs) and electrical power lines are two systems that are almost always affected by nearby lightning strikes. Voltages in the telecommunication subscriber line (TSL) do get induced by nearby lightning strikes.

Experimental studies on multi‐scale data‐driven methods within the framework of structural health monitoring

open access: yesCivil Engineering Design, Volume 7, Issue 4, Page 147-168, December 2025.
Abstract The German Research Foundation has established the priority program SPP 100+. Its subject is monitoring bridge structures in civil engineering. The data‐driven methods cluster deals with the use of measurements and their special global and local analysis methods, which complement each other in an overall multi‐scale concept in order to realize

Automatic Analysis of Hydroacoustic Signals Related to the Activity of the Fani Maoré Submarine Volcano

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 26, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract Due to the properties of sound propagation underwater, including the existence of the SOFAR channel, sounds in the ocean can propagate over large distances with little attenuation. This makes passive acoustics a relevant method for monitoring natural events such as ice calving, earthquakes, and underwater volcanic eruptions.
