Discrete time from quantum physics [PDF]
't Hooft has recently developed a discretisation of (2+1) gravity which has a multiple-valued Hamiltonian and which therefore admits quantum time evolution only in discrete steps. In this paper, we describe several models in the continuum with single-valued equations of motion in classical physics, but with multiple-valued Hamiltonians.

A hybrid Chelyshkov wavelet-finite differences method for time-fractional black-Scholes equation [PDF]
In this paper, a hybrid method for solving time-fractional Black-Scholes equation is introduced for option pricing. The presented method is based on time and space discretization.

Semi-Classical Discretization and Long-Time Evolution of Variable Spin Systems
We apply the semi-classical limit of the generalized SO(3) map for representation of variable-spin systems in a four-dimensional symplectic manifold and approximate their evolution terms of effective classical dynamics on T*S2.

An algorithm for solving the Navier–Stokes problem with mixed boundary conditions
We consider a time-dependent Navier–Stokes problem in dimension two and three provided with mixed boundary conditions. We propose an iterative algorithm and its implementation for resolving this considered problem.

Digital Resonant Controller based on Modified Tustin Discretization Method
Resonant controllers are used in power converter voltage and current control due to their simplicity and accuracy. However, digital implementation of resonant controllers introduces problems related to zero and pole mapping from the continuous to the ...

Solutions of partial differential equations can exhibit multiple time scales. Standard discretization techniques are constrained to capture the finest scale to accurately predict the response of the system.

This paper develops a time-space double radial basis function (TSDRBF) method to solve PDEs arising from multiasset option pricing. By TSDRBF discretization for the high-dimensional PDEs, a linear system (LS) is obtained.
