A Time Domain Fluorescence Tomography System for Small Animal Imaging [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, 2008
We describe the application of a time domain diffuse fluorescence tomography system for whole body small animal imaging. The key features of the system are the use of point excitation in free space using ultrashort laser pulses and noncontact detection using a gated, intensified charge-coupled device (CCD) camera.

Prospects on Time-Domain Diffuse Optical Tomography Based on Time-Correlated Single Photon Counting for Small Animal Imaging [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Spectroscopy, 2016
This paper discusses instrumentation based on multiview parallel high temporal resolution (<50 ps) time-domain (TD) measurements for diffuse optical tomography (DOT) and a prospective view on the steps to undertake as regards such instrumentation to make TD-DOT a viable technology for small animal molecular imaging.

A Comparison Between a Time Domain and Continuous Wave Small Animal Optical Imaging System [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, 2008
We present a phantom study to evaluate the performance of the eXplore Optix (Advanced Research Technologies-GE Healthcare), the first commercially available time-domain tomography system for small animal fluorescence imaging, and compare its capabilities with the widely used IVIS 200 (Xenogen Corporation-Caliper) continuous wave planar imaging system ...

Encounter Times in Overlapping Domains: Application to Epidemic Spread in a Population of Territorial Animals [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2013
We develop an analytical method to calculate encounter times of two random walkers in one dimension when each individual is segregated in its own spatial domain and shares with its neighbor only a fraction of the available space, finding very good agreement with numerically-exact calculations.

A multi-sensor upper tropospheric ozone product (MUTOP) based on TES Ozone and GOES water vapor: derivation [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2011
The Tropospheric Emission Spectrometer (TES), a hyperspectral infrared instrument on the Aura satellite, retrieves a vertical profile of tropospheric ozone. However, polar-orbiting instruments like TES provide limited nadir-view coverage.
