Motor Timing and Covariation with Time Perception: Investigating the Role of Handedness
Time is a fundamental dimension of our behavior and enables us to guide our actions and to experience time such as predicting collisions or listening to music.

Estimations of execution time are essential for design and development of safety critical embedded real-time systems, such as avionics, automotive and aerospace systems. In such systems, execution time is part of the functional specification, hence correct behaviour requires sufficiently powerful target hardware to meet deadlines or achieve required ...

Improving Time Estimation in Witness Memory
The present study sought to determine whether witness memory for duration could be improved. In three studies, we examined the effects of unpacking (breaking an event into its component parts), anchoring (supplying participants with a reference duration),

Time Perception in Prodromal Alzheimer's Dementia and in Prodromal Dementia With Lewy Bodies
Background: Time perception is a subjective experience or sense of time. Previous studies have shown that Alzheimer's dementia (AD) patients have time perception deficits compared to a cognitively unimpaired control group (CU).

Comparing Time Perception among Morphine-Derived Drugs Addicts and Controls [PDF]
Background: The aim of the present study is to compare time perception among drug addicts and controls. Methods: 30 drug addicts were selected, and 30 non-addict individuals were selected as the control group. The two groups performed three tests of time

This paper presents a tutorial review of work in time delay estimation. A derivation of the ML estimator for time delay is presented together with an interpretation of that estimator as a special member of a class of generalized cross correlators. The performance of the estimator is given for both high and low signal to noise ratio cases.

Spectral Technique for Baud Time Estimation
A new approach for baud time (or baud rate) estimation of a random binary signal is presented. This approach utilizes the spectrum of the signal after nonlinear processing in a way that the estimation error can be reduced by simply increasing the number

Time estimation and expectancies [PDF]
The purpose of this research was to examine the influence of different types of expectancies on time estimation behavior. In Experiment 1, subjects were led to expect that a given number of trials would occur in a music perception task. In Experiment 2, expectancies concerning the duration of a given waiting period were varied.
