SPECTRAL ESTIMATION OF TIME SERIES

open access: yesСовременная наука и инновации, 2022
As a result of spectral analysis, namely, the fast Fourier transform (FFT) method, the wavelet transform method, the Hilbert-Huang transform method, certain periods of the time series representing the monthly average values of the sunspot numbers were ...

Anchoring in time estimation

open access: yesActa Psychologica, 2008
In two experiments, an anchoring account of the misestimation of future task duration was tested. This account states that such misestimation occurs because previous task duration serves as an anchor for predictions, leading to underestimation when a longer task follows a shorter one and overestimation when a shorter task follows a longer one.

Ovarian Sex Cord Stromal Tumors in Children and Adolescents—The European Standard Clinical Practice Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As part of the European Cooperative Study Group for Paediatric Rare Tumours initiative, we developed standard clinical practice guidelines for ovarian sex cord stromal tumors, based on comprehensive national and international cohort analyses, literature review, and a final expert consensus conference.

Evidence‐Informed Multidisciplinary Consensus Guidance for the Psychosocial Care of Adolescents With High‐Risk Cancer: Recommendations From the Italian Association of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Adolescents with high‐risk cancer face complex developmental, psychosocial, and ethical challenges that extend beyond disease‐directed treatment. Although international recommendations exist for communication, psychosocial care, pediatric palliative care, survivorship, and shared decision‐making, these have largely evolved within ...

Estimating the Expected Time to Enter and Leave a Common Target Area in Robotic Swarms

open access: yesMathematics
Coordination algorithms are required to minimise congestion when every robot in a robotic swarm has a common target area to visit. Some of these algorithms use artificial potential fields to enable path planning to become distributed and local.

Identifying the effective factors in the proper estimation of the time and cost of completion of construction projects using factor analysis (Case study: commercial and residential buildings in Arak) [PDF]

open access: yesمهندسی و مدیریت ساخت, 2023
Today, forecasting the actual costs of a project over a period is one of the fundamental aspects of project management. This is especially critical for construction projects, which play a significant role during natural crises.

Early Body Mass Index z‐Score Change and Resolution of Severe Malnutrition in Children With Sickle Cell Anemia in a Low‐Income Setting: A Prospective Single‐Arm Extension Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Children with sickle cell anemia (SCA) in low‐income settings are at risk of severe malnutrition, but optimal nutritional management has not been established. We evaluated an intensified ready‐to‐use therapeutic food (RUTF) regimen in children with persistent severe malnutrition after initial treatment and assessed whether early ...

Central Nervous System Tumors Among Infants in Canada: A Report From CYP‐C

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) tumors in infants are rare, pose unique clinical challenges, and lack large‐scale evidence‐based data to guide management. This study seeks to describe CNS tumors in Canadian infants and to compare their outcomes with those of older children.

Time estimation predicts mathematical intelligence. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
BACKGROUND: Performing mental subtractions affects time (duration) estimates, and making time estimates disrupts mental subtractions. This interaction has been attributed to the concurrent involvement of time estimation and arithmetic with general ...
