On Regime Switching Models

open access: yesMathematics
Regime switching models have been widely studied for their ability to capture the dynamic behavior of time series data and are widely used in economic and financial data analysis.

Switching Time of Magnetic Moment Driven by Circularly Polarized Field [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал нано- та електронної фізики, 2012
The magnetization switching effect of the uniaxial nanoparticle driven by a circularly polarized in the plane perpendicular to the easy axis field in the presence of thermal fluctuations is studied.

Long time behavior of diffusions with Markov switching

open access: yes, 2009
Let $Y$ be an Ornstein-Uhlenbeck diffusion governed by an ergodic finite state Markov process $X$: $dY_t=-\lambda(X_t)Y_tdt+\sigma(X_t)dB_t$, $Y_0$ given. Under ergodicity condition, we get quantitative estimates for the long time behavior of $Y$.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Minimization of the Switching Time of a Synthetic Free Layer in Thermally Assisted Spin Torque Switching

open access: yes, 2011
We theoretically studied the thermally assisted spin torque switching of a synthetic free layer and showed that the switching time is minimized if the condition H_J=|H_s|/(2 alpha) is satisfied, where H_J, H_s and alpha are the coupling field of two ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Linear Quadratic Games with Costly Measurements

open access: yes, 2017
In this work we consider a stochastic linear quadratic two-player game. The state measurements are observed through a switched noiseless communication link. Each player incurs a finite cost every time the link is established to get measurements.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Absolute exponential stability of switching time-delay Lurie systems with the application to switching Hopfield neural networks

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis
This paper investigates the problem of absolute exponential stability analysis for switching time-delay Lurie system (STDLS) with all modes unstable.
