Sustainable Utilization and Fire Protection of Wood‐Based Composites in Buildings: Innovations, Challenges, and Future Directions

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The increasing use of wood and wood‐based composites in construction reflects a global shift toward renewable materials that support sustainable development objectives, including carbon reduction and responsible resource use. While wood offers substantial environmental benefits compared to conventional materials such as concrete and steel, its

An Efficient Sodium Borate‐Based Electrolyte Additive to Activate Sulfur Conversion and Stabilize Calcium Anodes in Calcium−Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Calcium−sulfur (Ca−S) batteries are promising candidates for sustainable energy storage; yet their development is limited by the lack of efficient electrolytes. Here, a sodium‐ion modified Ca[B(hfip)4]2 electrolyte enables reversible room‐temperature Ca−S batteries by simultaneously improving Ca plating/stripping stability and reversible sulfur ...

Myasthenia gravis and thymus: long-term follow-up screening of thymectomized and non-thymectomized patients

open access: yesArquivos de Neuro-Psiquiatria, 2013
Thymoma screening is recommended at the onset of myasthenia gravis (MG) or when patients with MG present with clinical deterioration or a progressive increase of anti-acetylcholine receptor antibody.

Oxide Scale Morphology of Carbon Steels Under Novel Reheating Conditions

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
This study focuses on the changes in oxide scale morphology formed under simulated hydrogen and oxy‐fuel reheating gas atmospheres in comparison to natural gas‐air reheating. Several different properties were analyzed, such as pore structure, ratios of iron oxides, adhesion, and distribution of alloying elements.

Isothermal Reduction Behavior and Microstructural Evolution of Iron Ore Sinter Under Simulated Radial Blast Furnace Gas Atmospheres With Hydrogen Injection

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Commercial iron ore sinter is reduced isothermally under operation‐derived radial blast furnace gas atmospheres with and without 20 kg H2/tHM injection. Hydrogen improves reduction at 900–1100 °C, whereas at 700 °C the high H2O content limits the wüstite‐to‐iron driving force.

Empirical Physics‐Based Normal Behavior Modeling of Drive Train Temperatures With High‐Resolution Wind Turbine Operating Data

open access: yesWind Energy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The installed wind energy capacity increases every year. However, operation and maintenance costs still make up a considerable portion of the levelized costs of electricity. This costs can be greatly reduced by the application of suitable early fault detection methods. The supervisory control and data acquisition system of wind turbines is one

From Words to Actions: The Impact of Specificity and Causality in Narrative Feedback on Employee Performance Improvement Des paroles aux actes : incidence de la spécificité et de la causalité dans la rétroaction narrative sur l'amélioration du rendement des employés

open access: yesContemporary Accounting Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT With the widespread use of narrative feedback in companies, understanding how such feedback can be valuable for employee performance improvement is important. Drawing on proprietary data from an e‐commerce company, we investigate the role of specificity and causality—two key language characteristics for self‐regulation and learning.

Variation in Stabilization and Resuscitation Practices at Birth of Preterm Infants Among 12 National or Regional Neonatal Networks

open access: yesActa Paediatrica, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim Neonatal resuscitation follows national or regional guidelines, but uptake varies in clinical practice. This study aimed to examine variations in reported delivery room practices for infants < 29 weeks' gestation across neonatal units in 12 networks of the International Network for Evaluating Outcomes in Neonates.
