Degradation Characteristics of NO by Photocatalysis with TiO2 and CuO/TiO2
Reaction Kinetics and Catalysis Letters, 2000The effects of CuO loading, reaction temperature, and surface gas velocity (Ug) on the photocatalytic reduction of NO have been determined in an annular flow type and a modified two-dimensional fluidized bed photoreactor. The optimum CuO loading was found to be 3.3 wt.% and NO degradation conversion in the modified two-dimensional fluidized bed ...

Abstract Sm 3+ doped TiO 2 nanocrystals with various morphologies were fabricated via a facile hydrothermal route, and the effect of morphology on the luminescence properties and photocatalytic activity of the products has been investigated. PL studies on TiO 2 :Sm 3+ revealed that the sensitized emission is a much more efficient pathway than the ...

Nonstoichiometry on TiO2(110) and Cu–TiO2 interfaces
Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology A: Vacuum, Surfaces, and Films, 1998A number of reconstructions have been observed on the (110) surface of TiO2 in the rutile modification that accommodates oxygen deficiency. We present atomically resolved scanning tunneling microscope images that describe a new reconstruction with (3×2) symmetry.

Effect of nanocrystallite size of TiO2 in Co/TiO2 and Co/TiO2-Ru catalysts on methanation
Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2013We studied the effect of crystallite size of nanocrystalline TiO2 derived from the sol-gel method on the properties of Co/TiO2 catalysts. First, nanocrystalline TiO2 supports having different crystallite sizes were prepared via the sol-gel method by varying the water:alkoxide ratios from 4 to 165. Then, they were used as support for the cobalt catalyst.

Hydroxyapatite–TiO2 composites
Materials Letters, 2006This article reports the mechanical properties, the microstructure, and the crystallography of composite materials made of hydroxyapatite, obtained from natural bovine bone, and TiO2 (5 and 10 wt.%), which were sintered at different temperatures between 1000 and 1300 °C. Higher sintering temperatures resulted in better densification.

One of the most significant investigations on heterogeneous photocatalytic process can be dated back to the 1970s, when Fujishima and Honda showed that the TiO2 electrode is capable of water splitting under suitable electromagnetic irradiation. Since then, TiO2-based materials have become the dominant photocatalyst and have been investigated for ...

Recent Patents on Engineering, 2008
Titanium dioxide represents an effective photocatalyst for water and air purification and for self-cleaning surfaces. Additionally, it can be used as antibacterial agent because of strong oxidation activity and superhydrophilicity. TiO2 shows relatively high reactivity and chemical stability under ultraviolet light (λ<387nm), whose energy ...

Role of the crystallite phase of TiO2 in graphene/TiO2 photocatalysis
Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Electronics, 2015Using chemisorption followed by annealing at different temperatures, TiO2 with different phases (anatase, rutile and mixed anatase/rutile) have been successfully assembled onto graphene sheet. The corresponding UV and visible induced photoactivities were evaluated using sensitized methyl orange and non-sensitized benzoic acid degradation as a probe ...

Interactions with the support in Co/TiO2 and Co3O4/TiO2 systems
Journal of Materials Science, 1986TiO2-supported cobalt systems have been studied both in the oxidized and in the reduced state. After high temperature (770 K) reduction no hydrogen adsorption is observed, indicating the occurrence of strong interactions with the support. Oxidation at room temperature is not observed, but after 770 K oxidation, Co3O4 particles are detected, decreasing ...
