Oxidative Stress Induced Senescent Macrophage‐Driven Squamous Cell Carcinoma Invasion via Glutamine Metabolic Reprogramming

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 7, July 2026.
Oxidative stress induces GLS2‐dependent IL‐1β secretion in senescent macrophages, promoting SCC invasion through the IL‐1β/IL‐1R2 axis. Targeting IL‐1β suppresses invasion more effectively than GLS2 inhibition, highlighting a potential therapeutic strategy for SCC.
