The Role of miRNAs in Chicken Immune Regulation and Prospects for Disease‐Resistant Breeding
A schematic workflow illustrating the screening of disease‐resistant miRNAs and the generation of miRNA‐based disease‐resistant chickens via PGC‐mediated germline genome editing. ABSTRACT MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are emerging as pivotal regulators of the immune system, playing a decisive role in shaping disease resistance in chicken.

Estimation of turbulent heat flux over leads using satellite thermal images [PDF]
Sea ice leads are an important feature in pack ice in the Arctic. Even covered by thin ice, leads can still serve as prime windows for heat exchange between the atmosphere and the ocean, especially in the winter.

ABSTRACT The detection of buried or obscured archaeological features remains a central challenge in landscape archaeology, particularly in the irrigated floodplains of Mesopotamia where levees and canals formed the basis of complex agrarian systems. This study presents a deep learning–based approach for the large‐scale, automated detection of ancient ...

The Role of TIR-NBS and TIR-X Proteins in Plant Basal Defense Responses [PDF]
Toll/interleukin receptor (TIR) domain-containing proteins encoded in the Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) genome include the TIR-nucleotide binding site (TN) and TIR-unknown site/domain (TX) families. We investigated the function of these proteins. Transient overexpression of five TX and TN genes in tobacco (Nicotiana benthamiana) induced chlorosis.

TirS interferes with TLR and IL-1R signaling.
(A) HEK293T cells were transiently transfected for 24 h with the luciferase reporter vector and murine TLR2, TLR4, TLR5, or TLR9 in the presence or absence of TirS (50 ng). Cells were then stimulated with the appropriate ligand (PAM, LPS, Fl-ST, and CpG)

What Makes an “Ideal” Cell Line for Recombinant Adeno‐Associated Virus Production?
Several host cell types have been used to produce rAAVs to date. Cell line‐specific traits that are beneficial in the context of rAAV manufacturing are reviewed here, with the goal of developing a consensus on the ‘ideal’ characteristics that an rAAV production host should possess (created with Biorender.com).

A Temperature and Emissivity Separation Algorithm for Landsat-8 Thermal Infrared Sensor Data
On-board the Landsat-8 satellite, the Thermal Infrared Sensor (TIRS), which has two adjacent thermal channels centered roughly at 10.9 and 12.0 μm, has a great benefit for the land surface temperature (LST) retrieval.
