Extracting scattering coefficient and anisotropy factor of tissue using optical coherence tomography
SPIE Proceedings, 2012ABSTRACT Determination of tissue optical properties is important as it will lead to better design of optical diagnostic tools, improvement in laser therapy, photo dynamic therapy dosimetry, drug pharmacokinetics, etc. We have developed a theoretical model for OCT signal using Monte Carlo simulation that allows us to fit values extracted from the OC T ...

We developed a method to determine the optical properties of biological tissue from the results of integrating sphere measurements. Our Monte Carlo model developed for this purpose considered the geometry of the investigated sample as well as the features of the integrating sphere setup.

The scattering coefficient, μ s , the anisotropy factor, g, the scattering phase function, p(θ) , and the angular dependence of scattering intensity distributions of human cancerous and normal prostate tissues were systematically investigated as a function of wavelength, scattering angle and scattering particle size using Mie theory and experimental

Ultracentrifugation and fluorescence anisotropy decay measurements were used to evaluate the asymmetry and conformational dynamics of human blood clotting enzyme VIIa (VIIa) and the complex it forms with a soluble truncation mutant of human tissue factor (sTF) which acts as an essential cofactor for VIIa.
