Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

Thermal proteome profiling and proteome analysis using high‐definition mass spectrometry demonstrate modulation of cholesterol biosynthesis by next‐generation galeterone analog VNPP433‐3β in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Elevated level of cholesterol is positively correlated to prostate cancer development and disease severity. Cholesterol‐lowering drugs, such as statins, are demonstrated to inhibit prostate cancer. VNPP433‐3β interrupts multiple signaling and metabolic pathways, including cholesterol biosynthesis, AR‐mediated transcription of several oncogenes, mRNA 5′

Comparative studies of sunlight mediated green synthesis of silver nanoparaticles from Azadirachta indica leaf extract and its antibacterial effect on Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae

open access: yesArabian Journal of Chemistry, 2020
Biogenic synthesis of silver nanoparticle (AgNPs) has attracted worldwide attention as it is cheap and non-toxic. Therefore, in present study sunlight mediated silver nanoparticle was synthesized from Azadirachta indica A.

EFFECT OF AUXINE AND CYTOKININE ON CALLUS INDUCTION IN POTATO (SOLANUM TUBEROSUM L.) EXPLANTS

open access: yesAgricultura, 2009
Effect of growth regulators for callus induction of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) genotypes (Christian and Roclas) was studied. The best callus induction was for MS medium supplemented with 1mg/L 2,4 D and 0,5 mg/l BAP for both the genotypes.

Numerical Modeling of Oxygen Diffusion in Tissue Spheroids Undergoing Fusion Using Functional Representation and Finite Volumes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
A three-dimensional cell culture called a spheroid serves as a foundational entity in a wide variety of modern tissue engineering applications, including 3D-bioprinting and preclinical drug testing. Lack of oxygen within tissue spheroids hinders metabolism of cells and eventually leads to cell death.
