Basic Techniques in Mammalian Cell Tissue Culture
Current Protocols in Toxicology, 2015AbstractCultured mammalian cells are used extensively in cell biology studies. It requires a number of special skills in order to be able to preserve the structure, function, behavior, and biology of the cells in culture. This unit describes the basic skills required to maintain and preserve cell cultures: maintaining aseptic technique, preparing media

Tissue Culture Techniques: Introduction
2021Cell culture techniques were developed as a way to study animal cells in vitro. The behavior of single cells, organ culture and monolayer cells can be studied without the in vivo influences arising from physiological and environmental variations among experimental animals.

Electrophysiological Techniques in Dissociated Tissue Culture
1989The application of electrophysiological techniques to tissue culture is still evolving. We have attempted in this chapter to give a practical summary of intracellular recording techniques used in our laboratory, as well as give some examples of new experimental strategies and electrophysiological methods that should provide further information on a ...

Clonal propagation of Callistemon by tissue culture techniques [PDF]
Callus development in Callistemon viminalis was readily achieved when axillary buds derived from nodal tissue were placed in a medium containing macro- and micro-nutrients, sucrose (0.06 M), inositol (300 μM), nicotinic acid (20 μM), pyridoxine hydrochloride (3 μM), thiamine hydrochloride (2 μM), riboflavin (10 μM), cytokinins (5 μM) and auxins (0.1 μM)

Overview of Cell and Tissue Culture Techniques
Current Protocols in Pharmacology, 1999AbstractCulture preparations vary greatly in complexity, ranging from single isolated cells to three‐dimensional histotypic cell structures. Besides cultures obtained directly from animal tissues (primary cultures), permanent cultures of continuously dividing (immortalized) cells have been established.

Mutagenesis Techniques in Plant Tissue Cultures
2003Mutant plant cell cultures can be useful in the study of the physiology and genetics of plants, as well for the improvement of crops. For recent reviews of mutant cell selection from tissue cultures, the reader is referred to Duncan and Widholm (1), Bright et al. (2), Flick (3), and Chapters 39 - 42 , in this vol. Often these mutants have been obtained

A novel technique to overcome browning in tissue culture
Plant Cell Reports, 1991Experiments conducted using Dioscorea alata L. revealed that an exudate from the cut end of the explants was responsible for browning of the culture medium. Browning did not affect growth of roots and shoots when explants were cultured in a large volume of medium, but in a small volume it was lethal.

Plant Tissue Culture Techniques for Breeding
2018Several tissue culture techniques can be used to generate genetic variation in plants. These in vitro procedures have been applied successfully in many species and have been used to create plants that are disease and insect resistant and tolerant to water stress and demonstrate enhanced growth and improved yields and much more.

Historical Developments of Cell and Tissue Culture Techniques [PDF]
Possibly the contribution of Haberlandt to the Sitzungsberichte der Wissenschaftlichen Akademie zu Wien more than a century ago (Haberlandt 1902) can be regarded as the first publication of experiments to culture isolated tissue from a plant ( Tradescantia ). To secure nurture requirements, Haberlandt used leaf explants capable of active photosynthesis.
