Phosphatized adductor muscle remains in a Cenomanian limid bivalve from Villers-sur-Mer (France)

open access: yesSwiss Journal of Palaeontology, 2022
Soft-tissue preservation in molluscs is generally rare, particularly in bivalves and gastropods. Here, we report a three-dimensionally preserved specimen of the limid Acesta clypeiformis from the Cenomanian of France that shows preservation of organic ...

Deep Transfer Learning for Texture Classification in Colorectal Cancer Histology [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Microscopic examination of tissues or histopathology is one of the diagnostic procedures for detecting colorectal cancer. The pathologist involved in such an examination usually identifies tissue type based on texture analysis, especially focusing on tumour-stroma ratio.

Individual Case Analysis of Postmortem Interval Time on Brain Tissue Preservation

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
At autopsy, the time that has elapsed since the time of death is routinely documented and noted as the postmortem interval (PMI). The PMI of human tissue samples is a parameter often reported in research studies and comparable PMI is preferred when ...

Ablation of LRP6 in alpha‐smooth muscle actin‐expressing cells abrogates lung inflammation and fibrosis upon bleomycin‐induced lung injury

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Low‐density lipoprotein receptor‐related protein 6 (LRP6) is a key receptor for the Wnt antagonist Dickkopf1 (DKK1). DKK1 protein expression is induced in a bleomycin (BLM)‐induced lung injury model. We show that DKK1 induces proinflammatory and profibrotic genes in lung fibroblasts.

Coverage of exposed hardware after lower leg fractures with free flaps or pedicled flaps [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
. – OBJECTIVE: The placement of osteosynthetic materials in the leg may be complicated by hardware exposure. Successful soft tissue reconstruction often provides a critical means for limb salvage in patients with hardware exposure in the leg.

Dynamic in vitro culture of cryopreserved-thawed human ovarian cortical tissue using a microfluidics platform does not improve early folliculogenesis

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2022
Current strategies for fertility preservation include the cryopreservation of embryos, mature oocytes or ovarian cortical tissue for autologous transplantation.

The Elnady Technique: An innovative, new method for tissue preservation.

open access: yesALTEX, 2016
At the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University, there is an increasing number of students but a limited availability of animal cadavers used for dissection, and student exposure to formalin is a known hazard. In order to address these challenges,

Characteristics of the Kelch domain containing (KLHDC) subfamily and relationships with diseases

open access: yesFEBS Letters, Volume 599, Issue 8, Page 1094-1112, April 2025.
The Kelch protein superfamily includes 63 members, with the KLHDC subfamily having 10 proteins. While their functions are not fully understood, recent advances in KLHDC2's structure and role in protein degradation have highlighted its potential for drug development, especially in PROTAC therapies.

Aspects of the taphonomy of the Cambrian Explosion in North Greenland [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This thesis describes and elucidates the taphonomic pathways responsible for the exceptional preservation of some of the most common elements of the Sirius Passet Lagerstätte (early Cambrian), North Greenland.

Re-exploration of vertical rectus abdominis myocutaneous flap for vaginal reconstruction: Case report and review of the literature. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The vertical rectus abdominis myocutaneous (VRAM) flap is a versatile and well-established reconstructive technique for many defects created as a result of colorectal and gynecologic extirpation. However, major re-operation in the pelvis following a VRAM
