Determination of the Specific Antibody Titer
Current Protocols in Molecular Biology, 2000AbstractThe amount of specific antibody present in polyclonal antiserum, ascites fluid, or hybridoma supernatant can be quantitated by either solid‐phase radioimmunoassay (RIA) or by direct ELISA. In the solid‐phase assay described here, serially diluted antiserum is incubated in microtiter wells previously coated with the relevant antigen.

Antithrombin titer in acute pancreatitis
The American Journal of Medicine, 1952Abstract The antithrombin titer for acute pancreatitis was markedly elevated in fifty of fifty-five proven cases of acute pancreatitis. In 97 per cent of a control series of 304 patients with acute surgical abdominal diseases the antithrombin titer was normal.

To the Editor.— Definitive diagnosis of typhoid fever rests upon isolation of Salmonella typhosa. Pending results of isolation procedures, preliminary serology tests are widely used; the Widal reaction being the preferred test. 1,2,3 Despite difficulty with the interpretation of the Widal reaction, it is generally thought that a significant O antigen ...

Estimation of hemagglutination-inhibition titers
Archives of Virology, 1975In the hemagglutination-inhibition test, simple relationships exist between units of hemagglutinating virus and hemagglutination-inhibition antibody titers. Equations have worked out which allow estimating antibody titers for different virus doses, provided all other parameters are kept constant.

Rubella antibody titer. The significance of low-titered rubella antibodies.
Obstetrics and gynecology, 1978The hemagglutination inhibition (HAI) test is not mathematically precise and reproducible. Thus, it is critical to know whether or not the threshold titer (1 : 10) of detectable rubella antibody is indicative of true immunity. Three patients with a 1 : 10 HAI titer presented with subsequent rubella during gestation.

This chapter describes the steps that need to be followed to titer and plate phage. When bacterial cells are grown in top agar, they form a cloudy lawn of cells at confluence. When a phage is added to that lawn of plating cells, a phage near a cell would infects that cell, eventually lysing the infected cell.
