Thermoluminescence of LiF TLD-100 dosimeter crystals
IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1974The unusually complex thermoluminescence obtained from Harshaw dosimeter type TLD-100 LiF crystals has been studied with apparatus for measuring emission intensity simultaneously as a function of both wavelength and sample temperature. A separate signal averaged spectrum is obtained at 5.5 C temperature intervals.

Thermoluminescence of LiF TLD-100 by phototransfer
Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 1976The residual trapped charge carriers remaining after incomplete annealing of an irradiated thermoluminescent (TL) sample can be transferred to empty trapping sites by incident ultraviolet (UB) photons. Phototransferred thermoluminescence (PTTL) in LiF TLD-100 was studied as a function of the residual glow curve intensity the photon energy of the ...

Trapping parameters for peak XII in LiF TLD-100
Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 1983In the TL glow curve of LiF TLD-100, peak IV appears as a shoulder to peak V. There are few data available on trapping parameters for this peak in the literature. The relative intensities of the two peaks were reversed by annealing the sample at 423K for 23 h before irradiation.

Order of kinetics for thermoluminescence in LiF (TLD-100)
Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 1982Results are presented on the decay of glow peak V (190 degrees C) in powder as well as single crystal chip samples of LiF. The absence of peak IV (170 degrees C) is confirmed and any contribution from higher temperature glow peaks is accounted for, to ascertain that the decay represents the uncontaminated peak V.

High ambient temperature effects in LiF TLD-100
Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 1991Experimental results for the evolution of the TLD-100 glow peaks IV and V during storage at 70 degrees C are presented. These results confirm a previous conclusion on the null incidence of spontaneous release of radiation-induced trapped charges on this evolution.

Thermoluminescence spectrum of heavily-irradiated LiF (TLD-100)
Journal of Physics C: Solid State Physics, 1973The thermoluminescence spectrum of LiF has been observed after heavy gamma irradiation. Unlike the spectra reported in the literature this is found to extend to the red region and contain peaks at 330 nm, 348 nm, 436 nm and 635 nm.

Thermoluminescent Response of TLD-100 to Low Energy Protons
Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 1999The fluence-response curve of LiF:Mg,Ti (TLD-100) exposed to 0.7, 1.5 and 3 MeV protons has been measured in the 10 7 -10 12 protons.cm -2 fluence range. The total TL signal and glow curve peaks show in all cases a linear-supralinear response and the degree of supralinearity increases with the energy of the incident beam and the temperature of the TL

Early works that used thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs) to measure absorbed dose from alpha particles reported relatively high variation (10%) between TLDs, which is undesirable for modern dosimetry applications. This work outlines a method to increase precision for absorbed dose measured using TLDs with alpha-emitting radionuclides by applying an ...

On the trapping centres in LiF TLD-100
Solid State Communications, 1980Abstract Most of the TL in TLD-100 originates from the defects responsible for the optical absorption bands at 310 and 380 nm. Different models have been suggested for these defects and TL mechanism in TDL-100.
