Targeting Tn-Antigen-Positive Human Tumors with a Recombinant Human Macrophage Galactose CType Lectin

open access: yes, 2021
Alterations in glycosylation cause the emergence of tumor-associated carbohydrate antigens (TACAs) during tumorigenesis. Truncation of O-glycans reveals the Thomsen nouveau (Tn) antigen, an N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) frequently attached to serine or ...

Expression of tumor-associated antigens in breast cancer subtypes

open access: yesBreast, 2020
Objectives: Tumor-associated antigens (TAAs) are frequently overexpressed in several cancer types. The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of TAAs in breast cancer.

An mRNA mix redirects dendritic cells towards an antiviral program, inducing anticancer cytotoxic stem cell and central memory CD8+ T cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2023
Dendritic cell (DC)-maturation stimuli determine the potency of these antigen-presenting cells and, therefore, the quality of the T-cell response. Here we describe that the maturation of DCs via TriMix mRNA, encoding CD40 ligand, a constitutively active ...

Emerging Roles of the Unique Molecular Chaperone Cosmc in the Regulation of Health and Disease

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2022
The core-1 β1-3galactosyltransferase-specific chaperone 1 (Cosmc) is a unique molecular chaperone of core-1 β1-3galactosyltransferase(C1GALT1), which typically functions inside the endoplasmic reticulum (ER).

Expression of the Tn antigen on erythroid cells from a patient with Tn syndrome [PDF]

open access: yesJapanese journal of human genetics, 1992
In order to examine expression of the Tn antigen on erythroid cells from a patient with Tn syndrome, we applied a selective two phase liquid culture system for human erythroid progenitors in peripheral blood. The cells were analyzed with flow cytometry employing an anti-Tn antibody and a lectin of Vicia villosa which recognizes only the Tn determinant.

Fully synthetic Tn-based three-component cancer vaccine using covalently linked TLR4 ligand MPLA and iNKT cell agonist KRN-7000 as built-in adjuvant effectively protects mice from tumor development

open access: yesActa Pharmaceutica Sinica B, 2022
We present a new strategy for self-adjuvanting vaccine development that has different types of covalently-linked immunostimulants as the carrier molecule.

Targeting Tn-positive tumors with an afucosylated recombinant anti-Tn IgG

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
The aberrant expression of the Tn antigen (CD175) on surface glycoproteins of human carcinomas is associated with tumorigenesis, metastasis, and poor survival.

Shigella flexneri targets human colonic goblet cells by O antigen binding to Sialyl-Tn and Tn antigens via glycan-glycan interactions

open access: yes, 2020
Shigella flexneri targets colonic cells in humans to initiate invasive infection processes that lead to dysentery, and direct interactions between their lipopolysaccharide O antigens and blood group A related glycans are involved in the cell adherence ...

Single CAR-T cell treatment controls disseminated ovarian cancer in a syngeneic mouse model

open access: yesJournal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer, 2023
Background Treatment of some blood cancers with T cells that express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) against CD19 have shown remarkable results. In contrast, CAR-T cell efficacy against solid tumors has been difficult to achieve. Methods To examine the ...
