Brain metastasis‐associated fibroblasts shape the tumour microenvironment to enhance cancer cell invasion

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
Brain metastasis‐associated fibroblasts are active stromal components of the metastatic niche characterised by extracellular matrix remodelling and production of pro‐migratory mediators. They promote monocyte and cancer cell migration and enhance cancer cell invasion while having no growth‐promoting effect on cancer cells.

Therapeutic potential of natural products in cancer immunotherapy: Advances and challenges

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
This review systematically outlines the mechanisms underlying tumour immunotherapy resistance and elucidates the role of natural products in enhancing therapeutic efficacy as immunomodulatory adjuvants. Abstract Immunotherapy has emerged as a clinically pivotal approach in cancer treatment, but its application remains limited to a small subset of ...

Diagnostic Impact of Two‐Dimensional Shear Wave Elastography for Liver Fibrosis: A Multicenter Retrospective Study

open access: yesHepatology Research, EarlyView.
Two‐dimensional shear wave elastography demonstrated strong correlation with magnetic resonance elastography and high diagnostic accuracy for liver fibrosis across stages in 744 patients with chronic liver disease, supporting its role as a reliable non‐invasive tool for fibrosis assessment.

A Novel Diagnostic Approach for Hepatocellular Carcinoma Using Glycosylated Ferritin

open access: yesHepatology Research, EarlyView.
The percentage of glycosylated ferritin relative to total ferritin (%GF) is a novel biomarker for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), showing diagnostic performance comparable to that of AFP and DCP. We developed the GFAD index by integrating age, sex, %GF, AFP, and DCP, achieving improved diagnostic accuracy with high sensitivity and specificity. ABSTRACT

TROP2 immunoreactivity in pulmonary large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma

open access: yesHistopathology, EarlyView.
Frequently positive TROP2 IHC suggests that TROP2 antibody‐drug conjugates may be potential treatments for LCNEC. Introduction TROP2 antibody‐drug conjugates have shown promising anti‐tumour activity, but neither the activity of these agents nor TROP2 expression has been well studied in pulmonary large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC), a rare and ...

Histopathological stratification of primary aldosteronism using the CYP11B2 size ratio: first evaluation in clinical routine

open access: yesHistopathology, EarlyView.
CYP11B2 immunohistochemistry identifies aldosterone‐producing nodules and enables objective subtyping using the B2 ratio (B2R), defined as the size ratio between the largest and second‐largest CYP11B2‐positive nodules. A B2R ≥8.1 indicates classical histology with a dominant lesion and high likelihood of cure, whereas B2R <8.1 reflects non‐classical ...

CD68 and F4/80 Markers Demonstrate Inflammatory Synergism Between Apical Periodontitis and Liver Fibrosis in Wistar Rats

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim To evaluate CD68 and F4/80 glycoproteins in the worsening of apical periodontitis (AP) and liver fibrosis (LF) in Wistar rats. Methodology Thirty‐two Wistar rats were distributed in the following groups (n = 8): C—control; AP—apical periodontitis; LF—liver fibrosis; APLF—AP and LF.

Serotypic and Genomic Diversity of Vibrio anguillarum in Rainbow Trout Farms in Turkey: Implications for Vibriosis Control and Vaccine Candidate Selection

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Outbreaks of vibriosis caused by Vibrio anguillarum are a persistent constraint on rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) aquaculture. However, information on the population structure of field strains in Turkey has been lacking. Here, we report the first systematic serotypic, proteomic, and genomic characterization of 23 V.

Diagnostic Accuracy of Real Time Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction for Chikungunya Virus Detection: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesTropical Medicine &International Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) is an arbovirus that causes an acute febrile illness with intense muscle and joint pain, with the possibility of progressing to a chronic or neurological stage. We conducted a systematic review and meta‐analysis with the aim of evaluating the accuracy of real‐time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain ...
