IL‐2 Free Expansion of T Cells with Immunofilaments
Ratio and density of stimulatory αCD3 and αCD28 mAb on immunofilaments (IF) influence T cell expansion, cytokine production, and effector phenotype. Moreover, IL‐2 supplementation is not necessary with optimal performing IFs, which leads to simpler culture conditions, and negative side effects of IL‐2 supplementation are reduced.

Structural Biology of the TNFα Antagonists Used in the Treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis
The binding of the tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) to its cognate receptor initiates many immune and inflammatory processes. The drugs, etanercept (Enbrel®), infliximab (Remicade®), adalimumab (Humira®), certolizumab-pegol (Cimzia®), and golimumab ...

In ophthalmology, living biomaterials such as living contact lenses appear promising for sustained drug delivery or biosensing. The cytocompatibility of Cg‐PVA hydrogels, developed as a model living contact lens, is investigated with the ocular surface, showing their potential translation to the clinic.

ACUTE PHASE OF SYSTEMIC INFLAMMATORY RESPONSE FOLLOWING A SINGLE-PORT LAPAROSCOPIC CHOLECYSTECTOMY
Early course of acute systemic inflammatory response after surgical intervention was traced for sixty-four patients with chronic calculous cholecystitis following a laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LCE). The patients were classified in 2 groups dependent on

TNFα induces Ca2+ influx to accelerate extrinsic apoptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma cells [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Tumor necrosis factor-α has been proven an effective anticancer agent in preclinical studies. However, the translation of TNFα from research to clinic has been blocked by significant systemic toxicity and limited efficacy at maximal tolerated

Fibrinolysis protease receptors promote activation of astrocytes to express pro-inflammatory cytokines. [PDF]
BACKGROUND:Astrocytes contribute to the crosstalk that generates chronic neuro-inflammation in neurological diseases; however, compared with microglia, astrocytes respond to a more limited continuum of innate immune system stimulants.
