A circular single-stranded DNA molecule, designated DNA1, was identified from Tobacco curly shoot virus (TbCSV) isolates Y35 and Y115 containing satellite DNAβ using abutting primers based on the two reported DNA1 sequences of whitefly-transmitted geminiviruses, while DNA1 molecule was not found in TbCSV isolates Y1 and Y121 without DNAβ.

The βC1 gene of DNAβ satellite associated with Tobacco curly shoot virus (TbCSV) isolate Y35 was obtained by PCR and was cloned into pET-32a to construct recombinant prokaryotic expression vector, pET32a-Y35βC1.

Genetic Mapping and Functional Characterisation of GhCUP Regulating Leaf Curling in Cotton. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Leaf size and shape are crucial traits affecting photosynthesis. Moderate leaf curling is believed to be beneficial to photosynthesis because upright leaves are ideal for building a canopy structure with reduced shaded areas to improve light penetration and ventilation.

Interaction between a nanovirus-like component and the Tobacco curly shoot virus/satellite complex. [PDF]
The biological role of DNA1, a nanovirus-like component shown to be associated with the begomovirus/satellite complex, has not yet been identified. Here, we demonstrated that DNA1 of Tobacco curly shoot virus isolate Y35 (TbCSV-Y35) attenuated leaf-curling symptoms induced by TbCSV-Y35 or TbCSV-Y35 plus Y35 DNAbeta in the early stage of symptom ...

First Report of Tobacco curly shoot virus Infecting Pepper in China
In recent years, whitefly-transmitted begomovirues (family Geminiviridae) have caused severe leaf curl disease on tobacco and tomato in southern China, but have not been found on pepper. In August 2009, pepper plants (Capsicum frutescens) grown in the field in Panzhihua City of Sichuan Province (southwestern China), from where the occurrence of ...
