Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Screening of Common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L) Germplasm for Drought Stress [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Stress Physiology & Biochemistry, 2023
Common bean is a species having high nutritional composition. Drought response in plants is complex phenomenon relating interactions between structure, functions and development of the plant. The Improvement of drought resistant for common bean has major

Development of Tolerance and Gross Tolerance by Mephobarbital.

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1952
Summary(1) Repeated daily intravenous injections of mephobarbital produces tolerance in experimental animals (rabbits). (2) The development of tolerance to mephobarbital also produces cross tolerance to butabarbital sodium.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Comparative transcriptome analysis reveals the complex response mechanisms of soybean leaves and roots to salt stress

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology
Background Soil salinization severely affects plant growth and development and has become one of the important abiotic stresses limiting crop growth. To improve soybean yield in saline soils, it is important to understand how soybean responds to salt ...

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

The Dilemma Diagnoser Approach and its Application to the Fault-Tolerant Control of Planetary Exploration Rovers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Most of the fault-tolerant control strategies found in the literature assume conclusive diagnosis, i.e. the current fault mode of the plant is well-known. Although, speculative diagnosis can be a more realistic approach while noise corrupted measurements

Assessment of bio-agent (Trichoderma Harzianum) in the management of two pepper varieties infected with root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne Incognita)

open access: yesActa Universitatis Sapientiae: Agriculture and Environment, 2019
Two field trials were carried out at the Teaching and Research Farm of the University of Ilorin in the 2012 and 2014 planting seasons to find out the effeciency of Trichoderma harzianum as a bio-control agent in controlling root-knot nematode ...

Screening of Trichoderma strains tolerant to benzimidazole

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2004
The screening of isolates and the assay of biocontrol mechanisms of Trichoderma were studied systematically in laboratory and greenhouse in vivo. The proteins tolerant to benzimidazole in Trichoderma strains were purified, and their physical and chemical

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...
