Co‐Optimization of Mechanical Performance and Osseointegration of Titanium‐Based Composites via a Novel Microwave‐Driven Boronization Strategy

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT The use of Ti6Al4V alloy in dental implantation is constrained by its high elastic modulus and biological inertness, which lead to delayed osseointegration and a high failure risk. Additionally, its chemical incompatibility with hydroxyapatite (HA) impedes the development of stable bioactive composites.

The Effects of Extracellular Vesicles From Cancer Cells in Acidosis or ER Stress to Endothelial Cells: Angiogenesis and Endothelial Activation

open access: yesBiology of the Cell, Volume 118, Issue 10, October 2026.
When breast cancer cells experience ER stress, their large extracellular vesicles promote increased endothelial migration and endothelial permeability. When these cancer cells are adapted to acidosis, their extracellular vesicles increase permeability and migration, reduce angiogenesis and tumor cell adhesion to endothelia, and activate ER stress ...

Positive Genetic Correlation Between Yield and Symbiotic Nitrogen Fixation in Pea

open access: yesEvolutionary Applications, Volume 19, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Crop improvement can enhance food security, but side effects, such as trade‐offs between valuable agronomic traits, are common. Likewise, fertilisation helps ensure high yields but can devalue mutualisms with soil microbes that would otherwise be essential for nutrient acquisition.

Mast Cells in Host Defense Against Cutaneous Staphylococcus aureus Infection

open access: yesImmunology &Cell Biology, Volume 104, Issue 9, Page 867-880, October 2026.
Impact of S. aureus epicutaneous sensitization models on mast cell function in vivo. D. farinae and Staphylococcal enterotoxin B (SEB) activate Trpv1+ Tac1+ nociceptors to trigger the release of substance P (SP), which promotes mast cell degranulation through Mrgprb2. S.

Treadmill Exercise Can Modulate the Inflammatory Microenvironment and Promote Regeneration After Compressive Spinal Cord Injury in Female Mice

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 30, Issue 20, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) leads to severe sensorimotor impairments and reduced quality of life. Physical rehabilitation has emerged as a key therapeutic strategy to improve function and mitigate complications such as muscle atrophy and joint contractures, partly through modulation of the inflammatory microenvironment.

SUN11602 Accelerates Early Peripheral Nerve Regeneration in an Experimental Median Nerve Transection Model

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 30, Issue 19, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Peripheral nerve injury (PNI) is one of the common life‐altering disabilities resulting in various degrees of impairment in movement and sensation alongside apraxia and long‐lasting pain. The gold standard for restoring the transected nerves is bridging the distal and proximal ends of disrupted autologous nerve using neurosurgical sutures ...

The miR‐145‐5p/NRF2/SLC7A11 axis regulates ferroptosis‐mediated renal tubular epithelial cell injury in diabetic nephropathy

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, Volume 17, Issue 10, Page 1667-1685, October 2026.
Suppression of miR‐145‐5p alleviates DN‐associated renal tissue damage by inhibiting NRF2/SLC7A11‐mediated ferroptosis of RTECs. ABSTRACT Purpose This study aimed to investigate the molecular mechanism by which the miR‐145‐5p/NRF2/SLC7A11 axis regulates ferroptosis‐mediated renal tubular epithelial cell (RTEC) injury in diabetic nephropathy (DN ...

Toluidine Blue in Diagnosis of Cancer of the Larynx

Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1970
In the larynx it is frequently difficult to identify carcinoma in situ, early infiltrating carcinoma, and the exact margins of an established carcinoma. It has been found that the use of toluidine blue as a supravital stain during direct laryngoscopy is a reliable adjunct to the early and precise diagnosis of carcinoma of the larynx.

TOLUIDINE BLUE IN BLEEDING ASSOCIATED WITH THROMBOPENIA

Journal of the American Medical Association, 1949
The use of toluidine blue or protamine as an aid in controlling the general tendency to bleed in thrombocytopenia has been suggested by Allen and his co-workers. 1 An anticoagulant, indistinguishable from heparin, was found in the blood of dogs that had hemorrhagic tendencies after prolonged exposure to roentgen rays.
