Embryonic cerebrospinal fluid pressure in fetal mice in utero: External factors pressurize the intraventricular space

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Previous experiments inducing leakage of embryonic cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) suggest the necessity of intraventricular CSF pressure (PCSF) for brain morphogenesis. Nevertheless, how embryonic PCSF occurs is unclear, especially in utero. Results Using a Landis water manometer, we measured PCSF in fetal mice isolated from the amniotic

Biopsy for Suspicious Oral Lesions: A Review From the American Head and Neck Society‐Cancer Prevention Service

open access: yesHead &Neck, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Oral cancer is often preceded by a precursor lesion. This presents an opportunity for early diagnosis and intervention. Method of biopsy and interpretation are not well standardized and novel methods of analysis are now being investigated.

Phosphoramidate and Silyl Amine Mediated Synthesis of Isocyanide Cyclopentadienone Iron Complexes

open access: yesHelvetica Chimica Acta, EarlyView.
Carbonyl ligands in cyclopentadienone iron complexes are replaced by isocyanide ligands without using free, malodorous isocyanides. The reaction takes place via an Aza‐Wittig‐type reaction starting from primary amines, employing either phosphoramidates or silyl amines as intermediate reagents.

Comparison and Evaluation of the Reliability of Oratest and Generic Toluidine Blue in the Detection of Oral Malignancy and Premalignancy

open access: yesFrontiers in Dentistry, 2005
Statement of Problem: Early diagnoses of oral malignancies and pre-malignancies have direct effect in the outcome of these lesions. Therefore the techniques for early diagnosis have been considered as useful method in practice.

Titanium migration and bone response in loaded osseointegrated implants: ESEM‐EDX analysis in Macaca fascicularis

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Titanium nanoparticle (TP) migration into peri‐implant bone may influence osseointegration. It remains unclear how loading protocols may affect TP distribution. This study aimed to detect TP in the bone around implants undergoing different loading protocols in Macaca fascicularis.

Synchronous Regeneration: Key Mechanism for Selective Reinnervation in Bilateral Vocal Fold Paralysis

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
This study investigates the mechanisms behind the success of selective laryngeal reinnervation surgery in bilateral vocal fold paralysis. In an animal model, the surgery promoted neuromuscular regeneration and restored coordinated vocal fold movement, with no misdirected potentials observed.
