Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1982Abstract ‘Peto-seed 7718VS’ tomato seedlings were transplanted on Jul 14 at the University of California South Coast Field Station in Santa Ana, CA. Experimental plots were 4 rows wide (1.52 meter centers) by 7.0 meters long and separated by a 1.52 meter buffer. The tomato planting was drip irrigated.

Treatments were replicated 4 times in a randomized complete block design. Three-row plots, 1.21 m apart and 6.09 m long were planted at 0.6-m spacing between plants on 18 Nov ’83.

After its first detection in Spain in 2006, it spread rapidly through the Western Palaearctic region, arriving in Tunisia 2 years later.

Plants were approximately 25% defoliated by ihe vegetable leafminer at first spray. Treatments were applied to runoff with a hand-held, 7.6-liter sprayer at 13.
