Chinese Family With Knobloch Syndrome Associated With a Novel PAK2 Variant Leading to Reduced Phosphorylation Levels

Molecular Genetics &Genomic Medicine, Volume 13, Issue 4, April 2025.
This study identified a novel PAK2 missense variant, p.Arg350Lys, in a Chinese patient with seizures, nystagmus, and developmental delay. The variant was classified as “likely pathogenic” using ACMG guidelines and showed reduced kinase activity in vitro, particularly affecting Ser141 phosphorylation.

The impacts of a typical dairy cow crossbreeding strategy on Cheddar cheesemaking efficiency, nutrition and quality

International Journal of Dairy Technology, Volume 78, Issue 2, April–June 2025.
Crossbreeding can enhance genetic diversity and improve herd health and fertility. No practical adverse impacts were detected in Cheddar cheese produced from a typical crossbred system. Jersey‐Holstein‐Friesian and Holstein‐Friesian derived Cheddar showed no significant differences in processing efficiency, nutrition and quality.
