Fine-grained binary instrumentation is a popular technique to monitor program execution. Intel's Pin is a leading dynamic binary instrumentation framework for building program measurement and analysis tools. A key feature missing in Pin is the ability to associate call paths with instructions as they execute.

Exploring developer's tool path
Proceedings of the ACM international conference companion on Object oriented programming systems languages and applications companion, 2011In this study we introduce the concept of ""cycle"" in daily work of software developers. A cycle is occurs when a developer working on a tool switches to another tool, or also to more, and eventually goes back to the first tool. Using the concept of cycle we explore how the developers distribute their time and navigate among different tools during ...

Triangulation partitioning applied in tool path optimization
Proceedings of the 12th IEEE Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37521), 2004Tool path topology is critical to the efficiency and applicability of free form surface machining. Regarding the machining efficiency, neither of the two commonly applied strategies for toll path generation is optimal. Whether the approach is based on generation of isoparametric curves or it exploits the parallel plane intersection curves; the full ...

HSM-ADAPTED TOOL PATH CALCULATION FOR POCKETING
Machining Science and Technology, 2006High-speed milling imposes a precise choice of cutting conditions, because the feed rate and the radial depth of cut influence the maximum forces on cutting edges. But the control of these cutting conditions for pocket machining is very difficult due to the complex tool path shape. Our work is focused on the improvement of the geometrical definition of

Feature-based noncutting tool path selection
Journal of Manufacturing Systems, 1994Abstract This paper describes feature-based noncutting tool path selection using integer programming (IP). The IP approach provides an optimum tool travel sequence while avoiding multidispatch of tools. The paper also describes the tool dispatching sequence, tool visiting sequence, and IP constraints for manufacturing features.

Tool path planning for aspheric five-axis machine tools
AOPC 2019: Optical Spectroscopy and Imaging, 2019Aspheric surfaces are widely used in modern optical systems. At present, five-axis machine tools are widely used for aspheric surfaces grinding and shaping. The technology of milling aspheric surface with five-axis machine tool is studied. According to the B-C double turntable five-axis machine tool, its kinematics model is analyzed.

Tool Path Calculation Based on the Actual Tool Profile
Advanced Materials Research, 2012Due to tool wear and making errors, calculating the tool path based on the tool theory model has a great deal of influence on the accuracy of surface finishing machining. In order to solve the above problem, a photogrammetry method is used to extract the rotary cutter profile, and then the tool surface is get by letting the fitting profile curve ...

Tool-path generation for roughing
1998Presented in this chapter are C-space based tool-path generation methods for roughing, with a special emphasis on pocket machining. Topics to be discussed are (1) characteristics of roughing operations, (2) CL-surface construction for roughing, (3) tool-path generation for pocket-machining, (4) 2D offsetting for CPO tool-path generation, (5) handling ...
