ABSTRACT The standard subdivision of a distributive fluvial system (DFS) into proximal, medial and distal zones is typically based on the proportion of channel bodies and/or the degree of channel amalgamation, reflecting a downstream fining trend towards a mud‐prone terminal pinch‐out.

Abstract The Aliança Formation (Jatobá Basin) represents lacustrine deposits formed in oxygenated waters that hosted a diverse fauna, including Hybodontiform sharks. Within this group, the Family Lonchidiidae comprises 11 valid genera, with Parvodus previously reported in Brazilian deposits from the Brejo Santo Formation (Araripe Basin, Late Jurassic ...

A New Design of the Tooth Profile for Single Screw Compressors [PDF]
The wear of star wheel teeth is an importance issue in the single screw compressor. In order to enhance the wearresistance of star wheel teeth, some new profiles of the meshing pair were proposed to replace the currently used straight line envelope ...

Instantaneous friction and wear energy density are important indicators of the friction and wear state of the tooth flank of the milling cutter. Existing methods for identifying the friction and wear on the tooth flank of milling cutters mainly focus on ...

Cooling holes provide a simple passive cooling strategy for polymer spur gears, reducing maximum operating temperature by up to 9.39% while introducing a measurable gear mesh stiffness penalty. A validated response‐surface model reveals how hole size and location govern this thermal–mechanical trade‐off, enabling design optimization for thermally and ...

Heat treatment and manufacturing variability influence gearbox NVH primarily through distortion, surface integrity, and evolving tooth‐flank geometry. This evidence‐aware review links material state and nonuniform wear to contact excitation, transmission error, structural response, and radiated noise within a validation‐oriented multiscale framework ...

Earthquakes and the Metamorphic Sole of the Tinos Ophiolite, Cyclades, Greece
Abstract We analyze deformation fabrics, compositions of melts, metamorphic temperatures, and paleopiezometric data beneath the Tsiknias Thrust, Tinos, Greece, which formed part of the plate boundary that, in Late‐Cretaceous time, absorbed convergence between Africa and Europe associated with final closure of the Vardar Ocean.

Marine Geophysical Investigation of a Fault Ruptured During the 2012 Mw 8.6 Wharton Basin Earthquake
Abstract The 2012 Mw 8.6 and 8.2 Wharton Basin earthquakes, within an intraplate deformation zone in the Indian Ocean, are the largest instrumentally recorded strike‐slip earthquakes on Earth that challenged the prevailing view that great earthquakes occur only at well‐defined plate boundaries.

Analysis of the Interfacial Bond Strength in Overmoulded Thermoplastic Composites
Two‐step injection overmoulding process investigated in this work, showing selective gate injection over a 450 mm demonstrator beam to vary flow length and rib pull‐off mechanical testing with fractographic characterisation of the overmoulded interface.

Biological function arises from aggregates rather than from molecules. Comparing biomimetic systems on a common basis reveals three transferable design rules governing hierarchical assembly, interfacial gradients, and stimulus‐coupled anisotropy, and identifies self‐healing and single‐step multiscale integration as properties that do not transfer to ...
