ALK5 is essential for tooth germ differentiation during tooth development
Biotechnic & Histochemistry, 2019The TGFβ superfamily of proteins participates in tooth development. TGFβ1 and TGFβ3 regulate odontoblast differentiation and dentin extracellular matrix synthesis. Although the expression of TGFβ family member ligands is well-characterized during mammalian tooth development, less is known about the TGFβ receptor, which is a heteromeric complex ...

[Autotransplantation of tooth germs].
Stomatologia mediterranea : SM, 1990The authors explained, after an attentive review of literature, the clinic and therapeutic procedures about dental germs' transplant. They show the indications for this surgical operation, the procedure for selection of grafting germs and the current surgical technique to do it.

Mitochondrial granule distribution in tooth germ cells
The Anatomical Record, 1977AbstractIncisor and molar tooth germs of albino rats sacrificed at the eighteenth and twentieth days in utero and one to seven days after birth were studied with light and electron microscopy. Observations of the various stages of tooth development in molars established that intramitochondrial granules in odontoblasts were comparable to the ...

ABSTRACT The ability of fragments of incisor enamel organ and lip-furrow epithelium from 15-and 16-day old embryonic mice to regulate into harmonious tooth constructions is described. The cervical loop and upper half portions of the incisor enamel organ were confronted with incisor or molar dental papillae. Similar combinations were made

Shope papilloma virus and tooth germ transplants
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1958Abstract Growth and development of transplants of species-susceptible tooth germs were altered, whether homotransplanted or heterotransplanted. With species-resistant tooth germs, whether transplants were made to a species-susceptible or a species-resistant strain, no alterations in expected growth and development were observed.

[Autotransplantation of human tooth germs].
Stomatologia mediterranea : SM, 1990The Author presents three cases of tooth germ transplantation which were periodically checked by x-rays to show the progressive root development. The clinical result obtained were quite satisfactory. The situations requiring the transplantations in the 3 cases were all rather unusual: in one case the tooth germ was inside a large follicular cyst; in ...

[Outcome of wisdom tooth germ transplantation].
Fortschritte der Kiefer- und Gesichts-Chirurgie, 1995In 68 patients, 79 tooth germs of the third molar were transplanted. Out of this group, 43 patients with 50 transplantations under-went a follow-up examination. All surgery was performed by one surgeon. Retrospectively, we tried to establish whether the success of postoperative healing depends on the donor and receiver regions.
