Targeting the AKT/mTOR pathway attenuates the metastatic potential of colorectal carcinoma circulating tumor cells in a murine xenotransplantation model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells

Women are under-represented in adaptation policy research and are more likely to emphasise justice topics

open access: yesEnvironmental Research: Climate
This paper is the first to analyse the role of women authors in fostering justice-relevant topics in climate adaptation research. As representation, citation and payment patterns remain gender-biased across scientific disciplines, we explore the case of ...

Ubiquitination of transcription factors in cancer: unveiling therapeutic potential

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In cancer, dysregulated ubiquitination of transcription factors contributes to the uncontrolled growth and survival characteristics of tumors. Tumor suppressors are degraded by aberrant ubiquitination, or oncogenic transcription factors gain stability through ubiquitination, thereby promoting tumorigenesis.

Qualitative Insights Tool (QualIT): LLM Enhanced Topic Modeling [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Topic modeling is a widely used technique for uncovering thematic structures from large text corpora. However, most topic modeling approaches e.g. Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) struggle to capture nuanced semantics and contextual understanding required to accurately model complex narratives.

CD44v, S1PR1, HER3, MET and cancer‐associated amino acid transporters are promising targets for the pancreatic cancers characterized using mAb

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Novel mAbs could detect cancer‐associated membrane proteins on various type of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDAC) by flow cytometry with viable PDAC cells and by immunohistochemistry with PDAC tissues. Results of protein expression were substantiated by mRNA expression by The Cancer Genome Atlas.

Modeling Dynamic Topics in Chain-Free Fashion by Evolution-Tracking Contrastive Learning and Unassociated Word Exclusion [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Dynamic topic models track the evolution of topics in sequential documents, which have derived various applications like trend analysis and opinion mining. However, existing models suffer from repetitive topic and unassociated topic issues, failing to reveal the evolution and hindering further applications.
