Aptamer‐Based Delivery Systems for VEGF and NGF Modulation in Ocular Therapies

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Aptamer‐based delivery systems targeting NGF and VEGF hold significant potential for precise and sustained treatment of complex diseases affecting both the anterior and posterior segments of the eye. This review critically summarizes current strategies for NGF and VEGF delivery as well as VEGF sequestration, providing a clinical perspective on how ...

Wound Geometry Determines Whether Aligned‐Fiber Scaffolds Accelerate or Impede Diabetic Wound Healing: A Biased Random Walk Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Wound closure is governed by geometry‐orientation coupling: aligned fibers speed migration along their axis but hinder perpendicular advance. In vivo diabetic wound experiments with composition‐matched fibrin, combined with an anisotropic diffusion (biased random‐walk) model, quantify this trade‐off and generate a healing landscape.

Controllable Dynamic Mechanical Cell Stimulation using Magnetically Actuated Artificial Cilia

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This paper introduces a platform based on magnetic artificial cilia for providing controllable dynamic mechanical stimulation to single cells, suitable for investigating large cell populations and enabling live cell imaging. Proof‐of‐principle experiments show that cell morphology is strongly influenced by the artificial cilia, that cellular forces can

Airborne 1O2 Delivery via a Superhydrophobic Dressing as a Pathway to Next‐Generation Wound Therapies, an in Vivo Murine Burn Model Study

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the SH bandage placed on an infected burn wound and its role in wound healing. A superhydrophobic PDMS membrane coated with the PS verteporfin is placed over the wound area and illuminated with a red laser at 690 nm, generating airborne 1O2 above the tissue.

Design and Optimization of Thermosensitive Hydrogels Combined with Lipid Nanotechnology for Topical Curcumin Application

open access: yesGels
A novel co-encapsulation platform based on curcumin-loaded liposomes (Cur-Lip) incorporated into thermosensitive hydrogels (TSH) was developed to address the physicochemical and biological limitations of topical curcumin (Cur) delivery.

A Data Driven Review of In Vitro Electrical and Mechanical Stimulation for Post‐Acute Phase Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how in vitro electrical and mechanical stimulation modulates wound healing in fibroblasts and keratinocytes. Analyzing over 560 experimental data points, we relate stimulation parameters to proliferation and migration outcomes, evaluate platform designs, and highlight the need for multi‐parameter optimization to advance targeted ...

Cardiovascular Safety Signals of Oral Versus Topical Minoxidil in FAERS: A Disproportionality Analysis (Analytic Cohort 2012–2025)

open access: yesLife
Oral minoxidil, including low-dose regimens, is increasingly used off-label for alopecia, but cardiovascular safety remains a clinical concern. We compared cardiovascular adverse event reporting patterns for oral versus topical minoxidil using a ...

A randomized control trial to evaluate the effectiveness of intravenous, intra-articular and topical wash regimes of tranexamic acid in primary total knee arthroplasty

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery, 2017
Background: The efficacy of tranexamic acid to decrease post-operative blood loss and blood transfusion is well established in literature. However, the ideal mode of administration is debatable.
