Topographical effects on bacterial behaviors

2014
Given the growing demand for personal health care and the increasing ageing population, regenerative medicine has attracted more and more attention during the last few decades. Unfortunately, the healing site infection which caused by bacteria can eventually render the medical implants to fail. Bacterial adhesion to the implant in vivo has proven to be

Topographic Effects in Stratified Fluids

1980
As will be clear from reading other papers in this volume, the study of fjords represents a scientific challenge in a large number of different areas. There are practical problems, such as those connected with pollution, the construction of hydroelectric schemes and the maintanence of an ice-free surface during the winter.

The ellipsoidal corrections to the topographic geoid effects

Journal of Geodesy, 2004
The topographic effects by Stokes’ formula are typically considered for a spherical approximation of sea level. For more precise determination of the geoid, sea level is better approximated by an ellipsoid, which justifies the consideration of the ellipsoidal corrections of topographic effects for improved geoid solutions.

Study of Topographical Effects on Dispersion of Pollution

1975
Publisher Summary This chapter reviews a study of topographical effects on dispersion of pollution. As a result of growing public concern for the environment, the Air Pollution Research Group is often called upon to provide assessments of air pollution problems that might arise from proposed industrial installations.
