Observation of a Higher‐Order End Topological Insulator in a Real Projective Lattice

open access: yesAdvanced Science
The modern theory of quantized polarization has recently extended from 1D dipole moment to multipole moment, leading to the development from conventional topological insulators (TIs) to higher‐order TIs, i.e., from the bulk polarization as primary ...

Mechanotransducing Organic Electrochemical Diode for Crosstalk‐Inhibited Artificial Skin

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach is presented to a stretchable mechanotransducing diode that unifies rectification and tactile‐sensing functionality. This approach enables to fabricate the diode that maintains a large rectification ratio (5 × 102) at a high operational frequency (100 Hz).

High-Capacity Near-Infrared Optical Vortex Sorting and Detection by Nonlinear Dammann Vortex Grating

open access: yesPhotonics
This paper demonstrates the sorting and detection of near-infrared vortex light using a nonlinear Dammann vortex grating. By incorporating a forked structure into the nonlinear Dammann grating, the resulting nonlinear Dammann vortex grating is capable of

Measurement of Orbital Angular Momentum by Self-Interference Using a Plasmonic Metasurface

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2016
We present a flexible method for measuring the orbital angular momentum (OAM) of a linearly polarized beam by means of a metasurface composed of a V-shaped gold plasmonic antenna.

Topological origin of quantized transport in non-Hermitian Floquet chains

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
We show that non-Hermiticity enables topological phases with unidirectional transport in one-dimensional Floquet chains. The topological signatures of these phases are noncontractible loops in the spectrum of the Floquet propagator that are separated by ...

Selective Charge Injection via Topological van der Waals Contacts for Barrier‐Free p‐Type TMD Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Topological van der Waals contacts represent a new class of electrodes for 2D semiconductors, enabling precise control of the Schottky barrier height (SBH) and contact resistance (RC) through interlayer distance and orbital hybridization engineering. In Se‐based transition metal dichalcogenides, these contacts achieve an ultralow SBH of 7 meV, RC of 0.

Non-extensive entropy and holographic thermodynamics: topological insights

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
In this paper, we delve into the thermodynamic topology of AdS Einstein–Gauss–Bonnet black holes, employing non-extensive entropy formulations such as Barrow, Rényi, and Sharma–Mittal entropy within two distinct frameworks: bulk boundary and restricted ...

Charges and Electromagnetic Radiation as Topological Excitations [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2017
We discuss a model with stable topological solitons in Minkowski space with only three degrees of freedom, the rotational angles of a spatial Dreibein. This model has four types of solitons differing in two topological quantum numbers which we identify with electric charge and spin.
