Uniform monolayer Cr2Ge2Te6 films are achieved on Si substrates by molecular beam epitaxy. Intrinsic ferromagnetism with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy is established in the films by anomalous Hall effect and superconducting quantum interference device measurements, albeit with strong magnetic fluctuations characteristic of its 2D nature.

Aspects of supersymmetric field theories in four and six dimensions
PhDSupersymmetry is an important concept in modern high energy physics. It has found many applications in theoretical considerations of supersymmetric gauge theories as well as in phenomenological approaches to physics beyond the Standard Model.

Morse theory interpretation of topological quantum field theories
Topological quantum field theories are interpreted as a generalized form of Morse theory. This interpretation is applied to formulate the simplest topological quantum field theory: topological quantum mechanics. The only non-trivial topological invariant

Phase Engineering of Nanomaterials (PEN): Evolution, Current Challenges, and Future Opportunities
This review summarizes the synthesis, phase transition, advanced characterization spanning ex situ to in situ and operando techniques, and diverse applications of phase engineering of nanomaterials (PEN). It further outlines key challenges and future opportunities, such as phase stability, architecture control, and artificial intelligence (AI)‐driven ...

Open Topological Field Theories and 2-Segal Objects [PDF]
In this thesis we analyze 2-dimensional open topological field theories in both 1-categorical and ∞-categorical contexts. Making use of the formalism, introduced by Dyckerhoff and Kapranov, of graphs structured over a crossed simplicial group ∆G, we give

Lattice supersymmetry and topological field theory [PDF]
It is known that certain theories with extended supersymmetry can be discretized in such a way as to preserve an exact fermionic symmetry. In the simplest model of this kind, we show that this residual supersymmetric invariance is actually a BRST symmetry associated with gauge fixing an underlying local shift symmetry. Furthermore, the starting lattice

We introduce a computational workflow that combines quantum chemical calculations and machine learning techniques to predict the catalytic performance of a wide range of catalysts in the nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR). The analysis of the trained models provides insights into the complex structure–activity relationship in experimental catalytic ...

Tailoring Phonon‐Driven Responses in α‐MoO3 through Isotopic Enrichment
ABSTRACT The implementation of polaritonic materials into nanoscale devices requires selective tuning of parameters to realize desired spectral or thermal responses. One robust material, α‐MoO3, an orthorhombic crystal boasting three distinct phonon dispersions, provides three polaritonic dispersions of hyperbolic phonon polaritons (HPhPs) across the ...

Harmonic maps, SU (N) skyrme models and yang-mills theories [PDF]
This thesis examines the construction of static solutions of (3+l)-dimensional SU{N) Skyrme models, usual and alternative, and pure massive SU(N) Yang-Mills theories.

A Survey of Interlayer Interaction Models for Graphene and Other 2D Materials
Van der Waals interactions arising from electronic polarization at atomically close interfaces generate corrugated interlayer energy landscapes that govern normal and tangential tractions. This review presents an overview of quantum, atomistic, analytical, and continuum modeling approaches, highlighting their roles across length scales in capturing ...
