Topological Index Theory for surfaces in 3–manifolds [PDF]

open access: yesGeometry & Topology, 2010
The disk complex of a surface in a 3-manifold is used to define its {\it topological index}. Surfaces with well-defined topological index are shown to generalize well-known classes, such as incompressible, strongly irreducible, and critical surfaces.

Reconfigurable Three‐Dimensional Superconducting Nanoarchitectures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
3D superconducting nanostructures offer new possibilities for emergent physical phenomena. However, fabricating complex geometries remains challenging. Here 3D nanoprinting of complex 3D superconducting nanoarchitectures is established. As well as propagating superconducting vortices in 3D, anisotropic superconducting properties with geometric ...

Computing Eccentricity-Based Topological Indices of 2-Power Interconnection Networks

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2020
In a connected graph G with a vertex v, the eccentricity εv of v is the distance between v and a vertex farthest from v in the graph G. Among eccentricity-based topological indices, the eccentric connectivity index, the total eccentricity index, and the ...

Low‐Symmetry Weyl Semimetals: A Path to Ideal Topological States

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a theoretical framework for realizing ideal Weyl semimetals, where Weyl nodes are well‐isolated at the Fermi level. The approach is exemplified in the low‐symmetry material Cu2SnSe3, which exhibits tunable topological phases, current‐induced orbital magnetization, and a strong circular photogalvanic effect, making it a promising ...

Non-kekulean benzenoid hydrocarbon: physico-chemical properties for benzenoid hydrocarbon using topological indices and mpolynomial [PDF]

open access: yesComputational Algorithms and Numerical Dimensions
Topological indices are the numerical values that are connected to subatomic graphs in order to create the quantitative structure activity and structure attribute of a chemical compound and non-chemical graphs.

Some topological indices of dendrimers determined by their Banhatti polynomials

open access: yesHeterocyclic Communications, 2020
Several properties of chemical compounds in a molecular structure can be determined with the aid of mathematical languages provided by various types of topological indices.

Topological Properties of Benzenoid Systems. XXIX. On Hosoya's Topological Index

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung A, 1984
Some properties of Hosoya's topological index Z and the modified topological index Z͂ of benzenoid hydrocarbons are examined. A simple relation between Z͂ and Z has been established, namely Z͂= Z1+a, where a = 0.02.

Sparse Index Tracking via Topological Learning

open access: yes, 2023
In this research, we introduce a novel methodology for the index tracking problem with sparse portfolios by leveraging topological data analysis (TDA). Utilizing persistence homology to measure the riskiness of assets, we introduce a topological method for data-driven learning of the parameters for regularization terms.
