The mean-field phi4-model: entropy, analyticity, and configuration space topology [PDF]
A large deviation technique is applied to the mean-field phi4-model, providing an exact expression for the configurational entropy s(v,m) as a function of the potential energy v and the magnetization m.

Absolute configuration and chemical topology
The stereochemistry of catenanes, knotted molecules, and Borromean rings is discussed. An augmentation of the Cahn-Ingold-Prelog convention for designating absolute configuration is proposed. A convention is proposed for designating the absolute configuration of knotted molecules. A suggestion is made concerning the citing of the absolute configuration

Unavoidable Configurations in Complete Topological Graphs [PDF]
A topological graph is a graph drawn in the plane so that its vertices are represented by points, and its edges are represented by Jordan curves connecting the corresponding points, with the property that any two curves have at most one point in common.

Computing the topology of configuration space [PDF]
The problem of planning collision-free paths for manipulators is considered. An algorithm is presented for generating the connectivity graph for a class of articulated manipulators. The algorithm is based upon the ability to determine whether two distinct obstacles in configuration space intersect.

A novel design of a shell-and-tube thermal energy storage unit with phase change material was proposed in the study. The layouts of highly conductive fins and phase change material (PCM) in the energy storage unit were optimized through the topology ...

Topological Bloch Bands in Graphene Superlattices [PDF]
We outline an approach to endow a plain vanilla material with topological properties by creating topological bands in stacks of manifestly nontopological atomically thin materials.

Spacetime topology from the tomographic histories approach I: Non-relativistic Case
The tomographic histories approach is presented. As an inverse problem, we recover in an operational way the effective topology of the extended configuration space of a system.

Automatic configuration of routing control platforms in OpenFlow networks [PDF]
RouteFlow provides a way to run routing control platforms (e. g. Quagga) in OpenFlow networks. One of the issues of RouteFlow is that an administrator needs to devote a lot of time (typically 7 hours for 28 switches) in manual configurations.

Topological spectrum of classical configurations [PDF]
For any classical field configuration or mechanical system with a finite number of degrees of freedom we introduce the concept of topological spectrum. It is based upon the assumption that for any classical configuration there exists a principle fiber bundle that contains all the physical and geometric information of the configuration.

Sphalerons, spectral flow, and anomalies
The topology of configuration space may be responsible in part for the existence of sphalerons. Here, sphalerons are defined to be static but unstable finite-energy solutions of the classical field equations.
