A transcriptomic profile of topping responsive non-coding RNAs in tobacco roots (Nicotiana tabacum)

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2019
Non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), including microRNAs (miRNAs), long ncRNAs (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs), accomplish remarkable variety of biological functions.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Research on the potential of the biopreparation VVH 86086 as a biological tool for the topping of inflorescences of tobacco grown for seed production

open access: yesРастениевъдни науки, 2020
An important characteristic of tobacco seeds is their different quality caused by biological or physiological reasons. This different quality is due to the different conditions of the formation and maturation of seeds in seed capsules of each ...

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Biomechanical changes of degenerated adjacent segment and intact lumbar spine after lumbosacral topping-off surgery: a three-dimensional finite element analysis

open access: yesBMC Musculoskeletal Disorders, 2019
Background Previous studies have revealed positive effect of Topping-off technique on upper adjacent segment after fusion surgery, while for the cases with fusion surgery on L5-S1 segment, owning maximal range of motion, and preexisting degenerated upper

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Robotic hand with integrated weighing function for automated food toppings

open access: yesROBOMECH Journal
The automation of food topping in manufacturing has lagged due to the challenge of balancing weight accuracy with operational speed. Conventional robots often operate slowly, repeatedly regrasping food items to adjust the weight.

Insight into the B3Transcription Factor Superfamily and Expression Profiling of B3 Genes in Axillary Buds after Topping in Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.)

open access: yesGenes, 2019
Members of the plant-specific B3 transcription factor superfamily play important roles in various growth and developmental processes in plants. Even though there are many valuable studies on B3 genes in other species, little is known about the B3 ...

Physics of Top [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2007
I will briefly review the physics of top quark at high energy colliders. A new discovery of single-top event at the Fermilab Tevatron is expected. At the CERN Large Hadron Collider, detailed top quark properties can be measured and new physics ideas in which top quark plays a special role can be tested.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.
