Mandibular Tori Limiting Treatment of Carcinoma of the Upper Aerodigestive Tract

open access: yesClinical Medicine Insights: Case Reports, 2019
Background: Mandibular tori are a rare cause of difficult direct visualization of the upper aerodigestive tract. In the setting of aerodigestive tract pathology necessitating direct visualization, removal of mandibular tori may be required to facilitate ...

Insights into the Functions of a Prophage Recombination Directionality Factor

open access: yesViruses, 2012
Recombination directionality factors (RDFs), or excisionases, are essential players of prophage excisive recombination. Despite the essentially catalytic role of the integrase in both integrative and excisive recombination, RDFs are required to direct ...

Can the function of the tubarial glands be evaluated using [99mTc]pertechnetate SPECT/CT, [18F]FDG PET/CT, and [11C]methionine PET/CT?

open access: yesEJNMMI Research, 2021
Background The tubarial glands (TGs) are recently reported as newly found salivary gland structures that can be organs at risk predominantly localized in the tori tubarius in the nasopharynx using prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission ...

Quasi-Periodic Bifurcations and Chaos

open access: yesMathematics
A natural phenomenon in applications is the interaction of quasi-periodic solutions of dynamical systems in a dissipative setting. We study the interactions of two of such ODE systems based on the construction of a nonlinear oscillator with thermostatic (

RADs energetics and constraints on emerging tori collisions around super-massive Kerr black holes

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2019
We provide constraints on possible configurations and interactions of two coplanar tori orbiting a central Kerr black hole (BH), in dependence on its dimensionless spin.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Families of compact complex tori

open access: yes, 2022
A compact complex torus of dimension g is a complex Lie group isomorphic to V/Λ, where V is a complex vector space of dimension g and Λ is a lattice in V.

Nanomaterial Integration at Liquid–Liquid Interfaces for Green Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Functional nanomaterials assembled at liquid–liquid interfaces create dual‐role platforms serving as emulsion stabilizers and catalytic sites, offering enhanced reaction kinetics with improved catalyst recovery and recyclability. This review examines design strategies, structure‐performance relationships, and industrial implementation prospects of ...
