Natural vibration analysis of pressurised and rotating toroidal shell segment by Rayleigh-Ritz method [PDF]
A semi-analytical procedure for natural vibration analysis of a simply supported toroidal shell segment is presented. The segment is closed in the circumferential direction and open in the meridional direction. The open edges are assumed to be simply supported. The segment therefore roughly resembles the geometry of a rotating tyre. The energy approach

Structure and Function of a Multi‐Megadalton Virus‐Like Proteolytic Dodecahedron
Zuzalysin, a virulence metallopeptidase of the periodontal pathogen Porphyromonas gingivalis, is secreted as a latent, flexible ≈95‐kDa monomer. Calcium triggers cysteine‐switch activation and hierarchical assembly into pentamers, bipentamers, tripentamers, and a ≈5.6‐MDa, ≈355‐Å dodecahedron. Structures at 1.8–3.6 Å reveal a virus‐sized catalytic cage

Toroidal-poloidal partitioning of plate motions since 120 MA [PDF]
Changes in plate motions and plate configurations during the Cenozoic and Mesozoic have been investigated extensively, but most geodynamical models have concentrated on present-day plate motions.

Ring Buckling Analysis Based on the Toroidal Shell Theory [PDF]
The in-plane and the out-of-plane buckling theory of rings exposed to external pressure is presented. A ring is considered as a segment of a toroidal shell. The governing ring equations are obtained by deducing the toroidal shell energy equations for the

Three‐dimensional bioprinting transforms breast cancer modeling from simple constructs into spatially organized, multicellular, perfused, and patient‐derived platforms. This review shows how bioinks, cellular composition, architecture, and flow govern tumor behavior and drug response, while revealing why complexity alone is insufficient without ...

Nonreciprocal Swarmalators With Reconfigurable and Controllable Formations for Robot Collectives
Nonreciprocal swarmalator interactions are enabled through control barrier functions to transform self‐organizing robot collectives into reconfigurable, constraint‐aware systems. Complex two‐ and three‐dimensional shapes, continuous morphing, obstacle‐aware navigation, collective splitting, and object transport emerge from modulating agent‐level ...

Multiferroic order parameters – polarization, magnetization, and ferroelastic strain – are positioned as dynamic design variables for batteries. Their mechanistic roles, practical tuning through fabrication and external fields, and ferroic‐resolved characterization routes are unified into a closed‐loop framework, revealing how coupled ferroic responses
