Diffusion wall time in toroidally segmented shell aka Armadillo
Abstract An analytical expression for the diffusion wall time of a toroidally segmented conducting shell (the Armadillo configuration) is derived by extending the continuous-shell formulation to include the non-axisymmetric current pattern imposed by the presence of toroidal gaps.

Edge Fluid Turbulence Simulations of Stellarators With GRILLIX
ABSTRACT The edge fluid turbulence code GRILLIX has recently been extended from axisymmetric tokamak geometries to support 3D stellarator configurations. Following successful proof‐of‐principle simulations published in Stegmeir et al., we present here a comprehensive simulation of the Wendelstein 7‐AS stellarator.

Dual mechanisms give rise to biphasic stomatal opening in onion
Anisotropic guard cell wall stiffness enhances onion stomatal pore opening by increasing guard cell arc length. Summary Stomata are controllable micropores on the leaf surface that regulate gas exchange and water loss. Pore aperture adjustment is a mechanical process whereby changes in guard cell turgor drive changes in cell shape, resulting in ...

ABSTRACT Developing rapid, precise gas sensors for Listeria monocytogenes (LM) biomarker detection faces challenges due to suboptimal gas‐solid interactions. Herein, we report the rational synthesis of amino‐functionalized mesoporous SiO2 hollow nano‐doughnuts (MS‐2‐NH2‐2) via modification with (3‐aminopropyl) trimethoxysilane (AAPTMS), which enables ...
