Thickness‐Dependent Skyrmion Evolution in Fe3GeTe2 During Magnetization Reversal

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thickness‐ and field‐dependent magnetic domain behavior in 2D van der Waals Fe3GeTe2 is studied using Lorentz TEM and micromagnetic simulations. A patch‐like domain phase evolves from skyrmions during magnetization reversal, and step edges between thickness regions act as pinning sites.

A Smart Magnetically Actuated Flip‐Disc Programmable Metasurface with Ultralow Power Consumption for Real‐Time Channel Control

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The study proposes a 1‐bit programmable metasurface based on flip‐disc display, named flip‐disc metasurface (FD‐MTS). This new design enables ultralow energy consumption while maintaining coding patterns. It also exhibits high scalability and multifunctional flexibility.

On the Relationship between Torque and Flow Structure in Powder Mixers

open access: yesKONA Powder and Particle Journal, 2014
This work establishes the link between direct measurement of powder flow in a horizontal mixer and shaft torque. Three agitator designs were used: one featured six long flat blades, one a long flat blade and the ...

Electroactive Liquid Crystal Elastomers as Soft Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electroactive liquid crystal elastomers (eLCEs) can be actuated via electromechanical, electrochemical, or electrothermal effects. a) Electromechanical effects include Maxwell stress, electrostriction, and the electroclinic effect. b) Electrochemical effects arise from electrode redox reactions.

Quantitative agreement of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interactions for domain-wall motion and spin-wave propagation

open access: yes, 2018
The magnetic exchange interaction is the one of the key factors governing the basic characteristics of magnetic systems. Unlike the symmetric nature of the Heisenberg exchange interaction, the interfacial Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI) generates

Melt Grafting of Geometry‐Tailored Voltage Stabilizers for High‐Performance Polypropylene Insulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable one‐step melt grafting strategy is developed to enhance the dielectric properties of isotactic polypropylene by covalently incorporating thermally stable aromatic voltage stabilizers. This solvent‐free approach improves volume resistivity and DC breakdown strength through deep trap formation and charge localization, offering a sustainable ...

Kinesio taping effect on biceps brachii muscle strength [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This work aimed at presenting the idea of inventor Dr. Kenzo Kase that kinesio tape application with proximal base leads to muscle contraction facilitation and application with distal base leads to muscle contraction inhibition.

Electrochemical Abuse‐Driven Thermal Runaway in Lithium‐Ion Batteries: Evolution From Beginning‐of‐Life to End‐of‐Life

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrochemical abuse transforms thermal runaway behavior in lithium‐ion batteries. Through systematic decoupling of degradation mechanisms, this study reveals that lithium plating lowers the onset temperature by 10 °C, electrolyte consumption delays high‐temperature reactions, and capacity fade reduces total heat generation. These mechanistic insights
